"Adrian," I repeated, my voice firmer this time despite the tremble in my body. "Let me go."
His lips brushed against my pulse point again, sending unwelcome shivers down my spine. I hated how my body responded to his touch, even when my mind was screaming in protest.
"Not until you listen," he growled against my skin.
"I've heard enough lies," I snapped, trying to push him away. My hands met the solid wall of his chest, and I cursed my weakness when my fingers instinctively curled against his bare skin.
Adrian pulled back just enough to look into my eyes, his own still glowing with his wolf. "It's not what you think, Seraphina. That picture—"
"I don't care about your excuses!" I cut him off, anger surging again. "First Julian, now you—I'm tired of powerful men thinking they can play me for a fool!"
Something dangerous flashed in his eyes. "Don't compare me to that pathetic excuse for a wolf."
"Why not? You're both liars," I hissed.
