Somewhere nearby, a group of people was observing the battle taking place against the Bahamut. They also witnessed that the Bahamut had fled, and the beasts attacking it had stopped their assault due to exhaustion. They knew that this group of beasts had owners—no beasts of different races would work with each other with such fluid and cooperative teamwork.
Liam: Such luck. Follow it.
Fordo: Yes, Young Master.
Liam Nebelius, the seventh young master of the Nebelius Clan from the Southwest Region territory, was a Mythical Rank tamer with Martial Emperor cultivation. Together with Fordo—another Mythical Rank—and seven other Legendary Ranks, they followed the Bahamut.
A few miles away, a group of nine Trilokan (Celestial Hawks) descended from deep in the sky, two of which were Mythical Beasts. All of them stopped flying by themselves and rode their beasts.
Liam: Attack. Don't let it recover.
Nine silver astral cannons descended and fired at the flying Bahamut.
Boom!
It crashed into the ground, creating a large crater.
Roar! The Bahamut roared.
An intense battle between the Bahamut and the Nebelius Clan erupted miles away from Lanfer's group.
Lanfer: Hmm. That beast has engaged in battle. (She noticed through the mark she left on its body and confirmed it with the explosion miles away from their location.) Seems like we're not the only ones eyeing that beast.
Horus: Let them be. That beast just expended 80% of its energy reserves fighting us. It would be good if they reduced its power even more. And looking at this intense energy, it seems like two Mythical Beasts are fighting over it, along with a group of Legendary Beasts.
Leonor: Hmm. I can feel three more Mythical Beasts in there. Hopefully, they won't successfully capture it.
Liam: This beast is so tough. Did they really weaken it? (He was saved by a Sevelim (Silver Wing Gargoyle King) from a dragon cannon— a Mythical Beast of Fordo.)
Fordo: Are you okay, Young Master?
Liam: I am. Mau, Yumi, help them take it down. (Then a Glevida (Humanoid Devil Sheep King) and Orianis (Mermaid Seraph/Angelic Mermaid), both Mythical Rank, came out from a void beneath his shadow.)
The other seven Legendary Ranks also sent all of their Legendary Beasts to help the hunt. Seven more Legendary Sevelim joined the fight, along with four Legendary Iscaltre (Humanoid Bladed Red Beetle Knights) and six Legendary Ghastaphon (Wraith Men). Fordo also sent his Normola (Black Slime Man) and Rastilin (Thunder Man Elemental), both Legendary.
The battle had now fully engaged into a fierce clash.
Yumi: Hmmmmm. (Harmonica, Hymn of Weakening has been cast, weakening the Bahamut.)
Mau: Roar! (He gigantified and transformed into a Demon King, then engaged the Bahamut head-on.)
The Sevelim shot into the sky and plummeted to the ground, smashing the head of the Bahamut into the earth.
Roar! (It roared angrily.)
The Legendary Beasts also kept their distance, firing a powerful barrage of energy attacks. Constant explosions erupted all throughout its body, but the Bahamut wasn't bothered by their attacks. Instead, it focused on confronting the five Mythical Beasts.
Fordo: Form the capturing net. (Then the eight of them created a magic circle in the sky, with Fordo at the center. A golden net descended from the sky, trapping the Bahamut.)
The Bahamut was trapped by the golden net, but it just roared with a dragon cannon, then tore it with its dragon claws and spread its wings, destroying their capturing net.
Roar! (It roared mightily.)
Suddenly, hundreds of black energy converged around the Bahamut. Then it fired multiple black rays, killing three Trilokan, two Iscaltre, and one Ghastaphon.
Liam: Fuck! (Yumi cast a Water and Light Elemental Aegis Barrier, protecting both of them.) Yumi, use that move.
Yumi: Judgment of Eternal Frost, Ice Hell Meteor! (Suddenly, the sky dimmed blue, and a colossal ice meteor descended from the heavens.)
Mau: Spatial Destruction! (Within a 100-kilometer radius, gravity was lifted, making everything float and immobilizing the Bahamut.)
Roar! (It roared toward the descending meteor.)
The two Trilokan fired Celestial Cannons down at the Bahamut, pinning it to the ground and crashing it heavily into a crater of destruction.
Meanwhile, the Sevelim in the sky converged a large silver spear with thorny edges.
Fordo: Fire!
Then it was fired at light speed. Swoosh! The large spear penetrated its defenses and heavily damaged it.
Then the ice meteor crashed into the Bahamut, creating massive ripples of intense wind in all directions and a massive nuclear explosion at the epicenter of the meteor crash. A mile-wide frost thorn erupted from the explosion—a very grand and intense attack.
One of their men: Is it dead?
Fordo: Hmm... it's not.
Roar! The Bahamut roared weakly from within a pitch-black pit. The epicenter had become a pitch-black deep crater, and the surrounding land had turned into frozen terrain. A while later, it revealed a heavily wounded Bahamut, with the spear fully lodged in its body and now heavily bleeding. The spear had injured it and left a long wound, but it wasn't enough to penetrate deep—only the outer armor and hide.
Roar! The Bahamut grabbed the spear with its mouth and pulled it out of its wound. Blood gushed out the moment it was removed.
Roar! Its wound was not healing.
Fordo: Good job, Dobi (Sevelim). With Dobi's silver poison and petrification, the wound won't heal, and the Bahamut will constantly turn to stone. All we need to do is prolong this battle.
The Bahamut's wound continued to bleed, but its body was slowly hardening and turning to silver stone.
Roar! Its eyes turned crimson red. It was now in a berserk state. Its body temperature increased—hot air and a scorching aura emanated from it. The pitch-black crater beneath it turned into a pool of lava.
Hiss... Hiss... Its power multiplied severalfold and kept getting stronger. Its emanating aura became more terrifying. Its body grew larger and larger.
Liam: Dobi's poison and petrification have been countered.
Fordo: Not good. This beast is now in berserk mode. We need to flee, Master.
Liam: But we almost defeated it. It's only a matter of time, and I can catch it.
Fordo: No, Master. This guy is much stronger than we expected. It seems like it was reserving its strength. This guy is like a body-tempering cultivator—the more you attack it, the more its body evolves, making its defenses stronger and stronger. And now that we've managed to wound it, it's pissed off. Based on its power reserves, we only managed to make it expend around 30% of its energy. But now, through its berserk condition, it managed to restore its power reserves back to peak—and they've multiplied around 10 times. We can't take on this beast. Let's go. (He took Liam and fled. Their beasts also followed them, leaving the seven other men behind—unaware of the situation.)
Suddenly, one of their men was gulped down. The Bahamut suddenly appeared midair. The beasts and Legendary Tamers struggled, fighting for their lives—but they were all eventually eaten like a bunch of snacks.
Fordo and Liam, looking at the situation from afar, were terrified.
Liam: What a loss. Let's go back to the clan.
Leonor was also observing nearby and saw the slaughter of Legendary Beast Tamers together with their beasts, as well as the two Mythical Rank Tamers fleeing the fight, vanishing into the southern horizon.
Leonor: Tsk.
Then Lanfer arrived, together with Ishvel, Vigil, Sedestro, Horus, Titus, Zakhar, Xukhar, Edeo, Silvio, Devora, Achilles, Homer, Dester, Magnus, Sauron, and Cersie. Teo, Vania, Logan, and Selso arrived with their beasts as well.
Teo: Do we really have a fighting chance against that Bahamut? That looks too strong.
Lanfer: We have. All we need to do is wait for its berserk state to vanish, and we can start fighting it.
Zakhar: Whenever it goes into berserk state, it becomes ten times stronger. But once it's finished, its power will also diminish and weaken. But I guess we still won't be enough.
Ishvel: How about we immobilize it, and Sedestro takes out its soul—like that of the Behemoth Bear? We really don't need to fight with our lives on the line, just stun it unconscious.
Ishvel spoke up. Even though he was already a Mythical Rank, just by looking at that mountainous Bahamut—crocodile dragon even bigger than Agarez—feeling its power from this far away despite being just a Legendary Rank, he wasn't confident in taking it down. The power reserve alone that remained, despite fighting two large battles, was still much larger than all of them combined. And this beast was already old, with too much battle experience. It was a monster, a savage beast compared to them.
Vigil: Great idea. I agree. If we manage to make this guy one of us, the fight with the Dehedra will be much easier. Let's go. (She vanished. The battle was also over, but its berserk state was still on.)
Vania: Hey, but it's still in berserk state!
Ishvel: Its aura is already plummeting down. Let's go. (He also vanished.)
Zakhar: Make some time. (Swoosh! He shot into the deep sky, spinning and spinning like a ball of sun—preparing a much more destructive meteor attack.)
Multiple black balls of dark bombs fired into the Bahamut.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
Black spherical explosions descended on the Bahamut—but they were ineffective.
Roar! It roared at Vigil in the skies, hovering with her mobile hands with eyes.
Suddenly, it was frozen in a glacier. Ishvel made his attack.
Crack. Smash. Roar!
Ishvel: This attack can easily kill Legendary Ranks and freeze them into ice—but it's ineffective against this beast.
Devora, Sauron, and Silvio also joined the battle. Devora rained the Bahamut with ice spikes and ice spears, while Silvio rained it with flame bombs and constant firing of Dragon Cannon. Sauron rained down lightning. Elemental attacks from these three dragons poured down onto the Bahamut.
Then everyone went to the location.
Lanfer: I will be in charge of everyone's protection.
Vigil: All Legendary Beasts, keep your distance and only fire barrages of attacks from safe locations. All Mythical Beasts—let's attack it head-on.
The four humans—Teo, Vania, Logan, and Selso—felt odd that a beast was the one commanding the battle and not them. But they just went with it and helped. After a lot of battles these days, they had already witnessed how intelligent Lyrus's beasts were. They even doubted if they were really beasts—they seemed much better compared to humans. Their battle insight was superb, and they kept improving each day. A fearsome talent for learning.
Selso unified with his Gofrey and became a Demonic Beast Lord. With the combined power of his Mythical Beast and his Mythical Rank, his power now tripled. His Mythical Daroke and Tristrikal also joined the fight head-on. With their speed, it was impossible to be hit by the Bahamut, while his other Tristrikals rained the Bahamut with zap cannons from a distance.
Vania Denegra (Chaos Red Dragon) joined the dragons in the sky, raining down a barrage of crimson-black and red beams of attacks, while her Arxen and Lyfilia (Elf Evolution) joined in with barrages of attacks from a safe, far distance.
Vasha also joined the barrage of elemental attacks, striking with tempest blades and bladed wind tornadoes. Miyo and Domas also fought the Bahamut head-on.
Logan Borus also fought the Bahamut head-on, taking the role of the tank together with Domas. They were the only big Mythical Rank beasts. Logan Zumurgad also joined despite being just a Legendary Rank—his defense was much stronger than both Domas and Logan Borus.
Roar! Everyone was thrown a great distance when it discharged a lot of force, making them crash nearby. But they just went back—the Bahamut was now much weaker.
Meanwhile, Lyrus was informed by Teo through message that they were currently engaged in a fierce battle against a Bahamut—a beast much weaker than the Dehedra but much stronger than all of them combined.
Lyrus, together with all his new beasts, was rushing to the location. He was riding Desmir, together with Maxel, Metria, Ormis, Misery, and Divana. Remus, Langres, Valor, August, and Rester were riding Nuxar, while Rion and Nigel were flying on their own. Maverick, Tyron, and Murus were running on land at a very fast pace.
While heading toward the location, he found Agarez on a distant horizon. With his mountain-sized body, he could be spotted from afar. It seemed like Agarez might evolve into a Mythical Beast soon—and it was siphoning the energy of the mineral vein on that mountain. Teros seemed like it was deep inside the earth, within the mineral vein beneath Agarez.
Lyrus didn't mind Agarez and just proceeded to the location. If Agarez became a Mythical Beast, he would be a big help in fighting the Dehedra.
In the horizon, the sky was illuminated with light—that was the location of the battle.
Lyrus: Hmm. (He could see a very powerful light in the sky descending.) Zakhar? This is a much more powerful meteor attack. This attack will surely destroy miles of land in the Wildlands.
Roar. Rawr! A lot of beasts were fleeing from that direction—both on land and in the air.
Somewhere in a distant direction, Fordo and Liam stopped heading southward.
Liam: Hmm. What is that?
Fordo: Such a terrifying attack.
Liam: This pressure can only be done by a Mythical Beast. (The sky was illuminated by brilliant light. The air was also too hot, and the temperature was getting even hotter.) What a terrifying attack.
Fordo: That distance—that's the location of the Bahamut. Seems like some Mythical Rank has also taken a liking to that beast and engaged it in battle.
More and more hunters in the Wildlands were catching sight of that massive attack descending from space.
Somewhere deeper into the Wildlands, the sky was so black it covered a mile-wide stretch. A Tribulation Lightning—on a much grander scale compared to a normal beast breakthrough—was raining down on the Dehedra, who was advancing into a Mythical Beast. In the area where the Dehedra was ascending, the place was filled with hundreds of giant Legendary Beast corpses it had subjugated.
Roar! The Tribulation Lightning had no effect on the Dehedra. Instead, it was siphoning and consuming the heavenly energy raining down on it. Its serpentine figure had now turned into a draconic hydra—and its seven heads had become nine draconic heads: black dragon head, white dragon head, blue dragon head, red dragon head, silver dragon head, gold dragon head, green dragon head, purple dragon head, and brown earth dragon head. Its body had also become colossal in size. It now had seven pairs of kilometer-long wings. Despite having wings, it could freely fly in the air. Its wings were only used to boost its flight speed.
Roar! A terrifying roar of multiple dragon heads.
