Chapter 7 - 7. The Secrets of the World.

[First night after getting the diary, I couldn't sleep well. Checked the news around noon and saw that the daughter of the Suzuki Conglomerate had gotten caught up in a murder case at her college reunion. From what I remember, the Conan storyline should be around the "Childhood Trauma Arc" with the Mummy Man now.]

[No idea how a manga that ran for 30 years in my past life will play out in this world.]

[But honestly, the Conan universe stopped making sense a long time ago. Especially with APTX 4869, a drug that shouldn't even exist in this timeline.]

[You swallow one capsule, and within ten minutes, you go from a 175 cm, 100+ pound high schooler to a tiny 1-meter-tall elementary schooler weighing less than 40 pounds.]

[More absurdly, drink some shochu and poof—you're back to normal. I have no idea where all that lost body mass gets stored or how energy conversion even works.]

[That said, even though Conan's world is full of outlandish gadgets and pseudoscience, it still follows basic logic as a detective story. The only real anomaly is how criminally overpopulated that universe is.]

[On the other hand, the author's other work, Kaito Kid, actually hides a real witch with unknown powers, and the Pandora Gem he's hunting supposedly holds the secret to immortality.]

[Too bad I transmigrated before either series finished, so I don't know who the final boss is—and frankly, I don't want to get mixed up in any of their nonsense. Let Conan and Kaito deal with their own plots.]

[As for the heroines currently reading this diary: don't even think about jumping in.]

[One of them is modern-day Sherlock Holmes. The other is a thief with a supposed IQ of 400. Show up in front of them and they'll sniff you out in seconds.]

[Also, APTX 4869 has a fatality rate over 99%. Only a select few get the "Benjamin Button" treatment. Even if you somehow get your hands on it, you'd probably become a top target for a global crime syndicate.]

[These guys are the kind who plant bombs on bullet trains, shoot up Tokyo Tower with attack helicopters, and will kill you if you look at them wrong. Even the Suzuki family's second daughter nearly got taken out once.]

[For the sake of your own survival, steer clear of Beika Town. It's basically going to be Japan's murder capital for the next few years.]

[Anyway, since we're on the topic of supernatural stuff, let me add: there are supernatural elements in Hoshino Ai's story too.]

[If she's already pregnant, the two kids in her belly are reincarnators with memories from their past lives. They'll begin investigating her murder in secret after she dies.]

[Honestly, that storyline sounds hype—but knowing the author, who derailed Kaguya-sama: Love Is War from a rom-com into a mess of politics and business battles, only to rush the ending after a bunch of iconic scenes, I have zero faith in guessing how Ai's arc will resolve.]

[Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. We don't even know if Ai is pregnant yet, so talking about events years or decades down the line is a stretch.]

[Makes you wonder though—just how many secrets are hiding in this world?]

[Well, not my business for now. I'm not some hero of justice. My goal is simple: lay low, write this diary for a few years, and wait until I'm overpowered before making any moves. No need to complicate things.]

[You all don't need to worry either. Even if the sky falls, there are plenty of other protagonists to hold it up. Just focus on living your best life.]

[I'm posting this diary entry early today because I figure some of you might lose sleep over it again. Consider it my little act of kindness, yeah?]

-----------------------------------

Kaguya Shinomiya carefully read every single word of today's diary entry.

It was slightly shorter than yesterday's, but just as earth-shattering in its implications.

She flipped first to Edogawa Conan's file.

Brief. Incredibly brief.

Age: 6

Parents: Unknown

Grade 1, Teitan Elementary School

Currently residing with Detective Kogoro Mouri

In contrast, Mouri's file was far more detailed.

From his elementary school days to graduating police academy, marrying now-famous lawyer Eri Kisaki, having a daughter, then separating from his wife—every part of his life was recorded.

He worked as a cop, then quit to open a detective agency. A third-rate sleuth for years, he only recently started cracking high-profile murder cases, earning the nickname Sleeping Kogoro.

"So… it's actually the child-sized Edogawa Conan who's been solving the cases all along?"

With the diary's content as context, Kaguya easily connected the dots. And the mention of APTX 4869, a drug that could de-age a person, sparked a small ripple of curiosity inside her.

But her curiosity quickly turned to caution as she re-read the mysterious writer's warning.

A 99% fatality rate. A criminal syndicate with the firepower to strafe Tokyo Tower. Even the daughter of the mighty Suzuki Group had nearly died at their hands.

Kaguya knew better than to get involved with something so far beyond her reach.

The Pandora Gem that grants immortality? Same deal. Right now, she didn't even qualify to think about it.

After finishing the rest of the entry, Kaguya fell into deep contemplation.

Reincarnated children. That revelation about Hoshino Ai might've been shocking in isolation, but compared to age-reversing drugs, eternal life gems, and the unknown other secrets hinted at... it seemed tame.

What really shook her wasn't even the supernatural stuff—it was the author's casual jab at how Kaguya-sama: Love Is War ended poorly, with an awkward pivot to politics and a rushed finale.

"That Kaguya-sama... it must be my story, right?"

The diary hadn't mentioned her surname, but just like Utaha Kasumigaoka could tell that the "Kasumigaoka-senpai" in the diary was her, Kaguya was sure the "Kaguya-sama" being mocked was herself.

"So the story derailed once it brought in politics and business... because the author couldn't handle it."

That single sentence didn't tell her what would happen to her in the future, but the slightly mocking tone made it clear—it wouldn't be anything pleasant.

"Why couldn't they write a little more? Just one extra sentence would've helped..."

Even though she had grown up knowing she'd be used as a pawn by her family, deep down, Kaguya still yearned for the right to choose her own future.

Lost in thought, she wrote a "3" in her diary—a symbol of the three paths before her.

1. Find the mysterious diarist, figure out her future, and prepare accordingly—but so far, the only hint was that the writer had a younger sister.

2. Accept her fate and continue along her predetermined path—the easiest, but also the one she most detested.

3. Seek out the hidden truths of the world and find the power to change her destiny—vague, elusive, and yet the most appealing.

She glanced down at the diary still in her hand.

This book was undoubtedly a part of the world's secrets—perhaps even its biggest one.

"Five more points of reading value… Once I unlock full access to this diary, will I finally be able to rewrite my fate?"
