Esika's face was scrunched up with an unpleasant expression. He stood in front of a large signboard. It was where supposedly, new students would get to learn which class they'd been placed in.
The only problem was because of his unfortunate upbringing ,aside from a few letters he couldn't read the words on the board well enough to make sense.
He stood alone, everyone else had already discovered where they had been placed.
He tried, with difficulties to sound out the letters in front of him, but the words that came out his mouth were just incoherent nonsense.
He had at one point wanted to ask the faculty members of the school for help, but after walking around the school for a while, he could not see the traces of anybody.
The long halls of the castle now looked barren, It gave off a oppresive feel to it, that made the tall doors look like daunting gates that kept inside scary beast. It was a loney place.
Memories of day's prior flew passed his mind. He remembered how, though nervous, after hearing his qualifications to enter the most prestigious academy of the Atman kingdom from the famous vice head of the same academy, he left home with some ambition.
He'd longed to shed his cowardly frame, and earn his family a happier life.
He had thought with his and his families previous status of slavery invalidated, and with his new title as being an awakener with distinguished talent , he'd have a chance to rise above his former self and rise to become a respected person.
These aspirations were quickly smothered though. His first day at the Academy re-introduced him to reality.
The Noble children made no attempt's to hide their disdain and utter contempt for his existence.
They made discouraging comment's about his past, and sneared loudly about his 'supposed' bad smell. Even though the wealthy Noble family, that was currently giving his family refuge upon their redacted status of slavery, went through great care in cleaning and providing him new clothes.
In retrospect, he should've known that comment's like that would've been lobbed his way.
Most of the Nobles saw themselves as being superior to commoners, let alone a lowly former slave, a title giveb to people who most only considered as being no more then objects.
While yes, this school indeed had a number of commoners enrolled in it. They were too few and far between to actually make up any decent faction within the academy.
Esika, only knew one such commoner in the same generation as him, and even he was a sort of pseudo nobel himself. 'Merrin' if he'd remembered him correctly had a vastly different circumstance from him.
The boy's father was a wealthy merchant that had several contacts with established inheritors. His buisness made trades with many of the Inheritors who'd hunted or brought back resources. His buisness mainly focused on the auctioning of these resources to wealthy buyers.
Because of the scarcity of many of the resources, the auctioning process were mostly held for Nobles of high standing.
He'd made a name for himself for selling only the most luxurious and useful goods. Many of times during his auctions, the buyers would go crazy for new or good looking items.
During the stir prices would immediately go upwards due to the competitive nature of Nobles. Therfore, multiplying the original price of whatever item he sold.
His influence could be felt kingdom wide, as his business was one of the largest in the Atman kingdom.
With all of the resources the boy had at his pick, some say even more then most high Nobles, it wasn't any wonder why the boy awakened.
In comparison to Esika, Merrin had a much easier time in fitting in. Some of the Noble kids even thought that with his families background in addition with his awakening, then it wouldn't be long until he became a Noble himself.
Such people were the only one's that could bridge the social gap. People like Esika, were from birth, not people that the Nobles would have to ever worry about interacting with. For hundreds of years, aside from the truly wealthy or talented, the Nobles had a complete monopoly on awakening.
Which was why, Esika's being was truly abnormal. Not only did he awaken as a slave, someone that lived on the most truce and limited diet, he'd awakened as a truly talented Inheritor.
Such a case when it was announced to the public, caused a major stir in the kingdom. Esika's, awakening was theoretically impossible. Academics who studied the awakening process for centuries, had already made it clear on the lifestyle one must live to have a mere small percentage of awakening.
Esika, whose malnourished form made him look much younger then he actually was, was supposed to be no where near the bracket possible.
His existence had riled up the kingdom's commoners. The Bugman activist, who were always on the losing side were now using his figure as an icon, and a form of hope for the impoverished and suppressed citizens.
Esika, with his young age and limited experience, had no idea he was such a talked about figure. Right now the only thing he was concerned about was the difficult words in front of him.
"There you are!" The feminine voice of a familiar acquaintance shook Esika's attention away from the board.
He looked to his side and saw the girl staring at him. Her black striped yellow hair and her short stature caused him to look at her in the eyes, something that Esika was not used to doing.
The girl in front of him was cute. She had a pale oval face with a not so freakishly large, but big doe eyes that were enhanced by youthfulness. Her pretty face, and Esika's limited experience with women, caused him to stare intensively at her.
"Ahem.." She noised pulling Esika out of his daze.
"Ah...Ms.Silliya.." His tongue tied, as he tried to avoid the eyes that he was just lost in.
Her full name was 'Silliya D.leon Bee'. She was a member of the Bee family, who were currently giving Adams family stay at their manor.
Her elder brother was the same, 'Sig D.leon Bee' that Esika had first seen in the awakening grounds.
"Why aren't you in class already?" She asked with her eyebrows scrunched down looking for an answer.
"Um..uhh. the board " Esika's face looked progressively worse as he tried and failed to force out any explanation, Pointing idiotically at the board.
Her brows dented in even more confusion. "What of the board?" she questioned.
"Even if you've never been to school before, its a fairly simple task.. Simply find your name. See what your current class is and go to that class" Her words sounded simple, but it was something that Esika simply could not do.
"M..Miss Silliya" He said as he tried to level his expression and speak to her calmly.
He started with a silent voice "my dear mother had tried her best.. but, with how things were for us i never really had the opportunity to learn much." Esika felt slightly down after saying this. His mother had indeed tried her best, but how could an illiterate parent teach their child something that they themselves didn't know?
"Ah" she replied in surprise, She looked apologetically at Esika.
"I apologize for my ignorance Esika.. I meant no offense" She said with a calm and graceful face as she bowed an acknowledgement to Esika.
"My Eldest brother has always told me that my brassfulness was my most unsavory aspect" Her actions flustered Esika.
Till a few days ago, he had believed all Nobles to be cruel people whose arrogance denied them the ability to talk regularly with those of lower status.
It wasn't until the day of the awakening ceremony that he'd came to meet actually righteous, good Nobles.
That day, changed many aspects of his life. He'd done something that none of his ancestors had even dreamed of doing. He was even later recognized by the Saintess herself as being a special existence even in comparison to the other lucky kids around him.
She had called the Wasp family head to enter her presence were then she immediately forced them to free him and his family. She, even requested the aid of the Bee family in housing and caring for his family.
He still remembered the faces of disbelief on the faces of his mom and dad once he had given them the News. It took the entourage of Sig's and Sig himself to convince them it was true.
Esika, was truly grateful. It wasn't just his immediate family of five, with his mom, dad, and his two siblings, who enjoyed their accommodation, it was his entire family line. Nearly, a village of peope were relocated.
Esika, might not have been a genius , but he knew it had to be expensive to house and provide for that many people, this fact had earned the Bee family his eternal good will.
Now looking at the apologetic girl in front of him, he felt slightly guilty. "Please.. don't feel bad Ms.Silliya, you asked before if I'd need help.. It was all because of my lack of forward thinking that i had said no".
She laughed lightly and responded "If you'd of asked then i most definitely wouldn't of turned you down Esika.. Please if you need anything just be straightforward next time".

A/N
(( Hi guys.. I hope this Ch was to your liking. I know the latest chapters have not been the fastest, but I've been trying to establish a foundation for a world that readers will care for. Im, trying (probable unsuccessfully) to take the tales of a reincarnated lord, approach. A slow beginning with a much faster middle. Still, im not entirely happy with the previous chapters i wrote. I had written them with nothing but ambition, which caused them to be severely lacking in realism and enjoyability. Im going to in a later date go back and revamp all of them come a later date ( Probably around when i finish ch 30). There won't be anything of substance changed. I will only fix some bad grammar and wording that i find unpleasant.))
Till then i hope that you all could find some enjoyment in my Bad novel.
