Chapter 17 - An eye for exploration

If there could only be a single word to describe Emma right now.

It would be tired.

Emma had been laying down on a dusty floor, disregarding how dirty it was just to get a chance to rest. By her sides were two normal wool bags. The bags had been filled to the brim with a special metal in this world, it looked exactly like refined iron, they were basically the same thing. Except for the fact that it was dangerously heavier and far more dense.

If she had tried to pick this up as a human, she would've broken her back and injured her harms from just trying.

But her new self definitely could pick such things. Emma rejoiced at her strength, but remembered she was nowhere near strong enough to what she was supposed to be. This simply was the floor in this world, a single step hadn't needed to be taken to reach this level.

"Again! Again! Again!" Eye shouted towards Emma with a mask over his face. The mask seemed to amplify his voice, rather than making it impossible for her to hardly hear him. Emma found this piece of tech to be interesting.

But at the moment she was to busy to be intrigued.

"Wait! Wait! Give me a moment to catch my breath. This is too much! Way too much!" Emma said in rasp voice, she felt like her voice was slowly leaving her, without a way to fend for herself against Eye.

"Stronger! You need to be stronger, mentally at least!" Eye said while rushing towards Emma in the large blue building, with a gray old interior, the floor was completely empty except the two.

Bam!

Emma was sent flying away yet again, when she landed the bags had made a large thud sound. Signifying that they were still there. If one looked just a bit closer they could see that at the moment they were attached to Emma with something that had looked like rope, but more frim.

"Stronger…" Emma said as the thought consumed her. That's right she needed to be stronger! She needed to do so desperately! How else would she resurrect Luna?

Emma got off the floor, by now this was her third time being knocked down by Eye, each time he'd usually given some time for Emma to recover just a bit, even handing her a blue mysterious liquid to help her recover.

To Eye, this was her true training. Killing those Lost we're just things that Avid had suggested they do to become stronger.

Throughout the entirety of Avids' E-team (group of 7 people by the way.) He was known to be the strongest, physically at least!!

Eye had told Emma they were doing this for Emma to learn how to dodge, or how to take on the pain of an attack.

Emma felt like this is just Eye's excuse of beating her up. Using "You'll get stronger" as a bait, Emma herself couldn't help but fall for this trap.

It was like a bird who refused to fly, because someone told it that the inside of the cage was better, even though the bird knows it likes the sky. It couldn't help but fall for this trap.

Hours pass by, by now its afternoon.

"Times up." Eye said with a relaxed smile heading out of the building.

Emma herself had gotten a bit traumatized by the pain, refusing to let it happen again after the 10th time. But Eye had just taken that as a challenge, and instead used his ginormous self to sit down on the floor, waiting for Emma like a leopard.

As soon as Emma uttered a word even sounded like "Ready" Eye would come at her full force, with the biggest smile known to man.

Throughout the entire time, Emma only got 12 hits from Eye.

She was in for a long, long, long ride called pain. Of course pain was expected when she wanted to become stronger, that's why she will always continue to go, even if she subconsciously really didn't want to.

But of course now she hadnt had to, she was in her learning session with Tilldoor. She had already been in the living room that had belonged to E-Team Avid.

The living room had looked the same as it always did with its completely nearly emply wooden exterior, and a blue comfy couch. Except for the fact there was a massive purple wooden desk, it had made the room less empty.

On that table was Tilldoor, this time with even more books at hand.

"This language will be mastered!" Emma said to herself, she felt like her will was slowly becoming that of iron. And that felt amazing.

It felt so sudden on how the suns had already come down so far it was already dusk.

"You did it! You learned the alphabet!" Tilldoor said enthusiastically.

"Yay.."

Tilldoor saying it outloud had Emma a little embarrassed, it took her 2 days of hard work to learn what's usually taught to toddlers.

"Live it up a bit. Learning the alphabet is a big thing, a massive step towards how to actually read. Remember, knowledge is the most useful tool to get to your dreams, so get as much as you possibly can! Reading will help me have the ability to self study. That way you dont even need to wait for me anymore." Tilldoor said in an encouraging manner.

"I suppose so. Are we doing other stuff today too?" Emma said she tried her best to look more up for it. It was clear to her that Tilldoor had cared for learning a lot.

"Of course! We're starting with a little bit of geography. Alita told me you're from a distant country, and you managed to reach all the way over here, so first will start on the geography of the land." Tilldoor said opening one of the book, he flipped through pages, and pages till he landed on one that looked like it contained a map.

Emma was reminded that she was a whole new world yet again, a world that has to be explored by her!
