After the last dump of information on Hajin's behalf, she had to admit that this was not something they expected from the boy. Sure, they knew he was the author, and thus the reason for their unconventional life style or situation, but you can't just get accustomed to such things in a short amount of time.
It would be a lie saying they weren't, at the least, a bit scared about what holds the future and reacting to it was a golden opportunity to know more about their fate. The constant anxiousness that crawls from knowing what horrendous things that might happen to them somehow gave them Goosebumps.

Nayun took a great breath in and calmed herself. This anonymous person was getting on her nerves. She's sure that something is not right and a trap is somewhat set up just awaiting for them to let their guard down before the enemy takes the opportunity in hand and strikes when they least expect it.
The moment wasn't the ideal one to start reminiscing about everything that happened and their trust in Hajin deflecting. They just have to endure this a little while longer before they were finally going to be set free and have a talk with Hajin about… Well, the whole novel thing.

« Uh… Is it like a character introduction? » Rachel was waiting for the response but it never came, the voice didn't want to respond as they saw.
"Nonetheless, it wasn't like they had a choice in the first place." That's the one sentence they kept telling themselves since they arrived.

« I think Rachel cough is right- » No way in hell would Yeonha admit anything like that. It would hurt her pride way too much! The good impression isn't worth the damage it will cause to her!
« Didn't quite catch what you said here, can you repeat please? » Rachel pulled her hand to her ear, a smirk on her face. They were rivals to know who would manage to convince Hajin to enter their guild but now their rivalry was extending to other subjects…
« Nothing. No need to worry about trivial things. » Yeonha forced a smile as she responded to Rachel's provocation ignoring how her fingers pierced her palm in a tight fist.
Jonghak, Nayun and Suho only raised an eyebrow at the implication of their discussion.
Shin Jonghak is the rival of Kim Suho , originally one of the protagonists of The Novel's Extra, he becomes a major supporting character in the story due to Kim Hajin's influence.

Yeonha and Rachel were suppressing a laugh and then their gazes met. They saw the similar action and as a consequence, they retracted from the eye contact and stopped their wheezing.
Nayun and Suho didn't bother to hide their surprise along their laughter though-
« H-Oh my god- Pfft- How did you change roles like that?- » Squeezed Nayun between laughter and gasps.
Shin Jonghak looked away, infuriated by this whole nonsense. How dare they degrade him like that huh?!
After reflection, it meant he didn't join hand with their enemy and didn't become antagonist after all. It seemed to help him relax a tiny bit. Just a tiny bit.

Yeonha can feel the vein in her forehead budging from anger at the brunette's provocation. She turned slowly clenching her fist with quite the amount of strength before directing her gaze on Nayun.

The cadet did not respond to the reaction but visibly gulped at the threat. She shouldn't mess with her friend knowing how aggressive she can be when she wants to.
Suho, Jonghak and Rachel only shook their head at the sight. Was their quarrel never ending with those two?

« I know that. I can just blame it on Gun Boy now though so it's considered progress. » Replied Jonghak with a shrug.
« What happened to you being mad at all these things?? » Nayun's mouth was agape. He didn't seem to really be invested in the matter nor caring anymore about his reputation. Little did she know that he was just resolute.
All his secrets and thoughts were going to be revealed anyway so what was the point of delaying something inevitable.
« I think they call that maturing Nayun- » The girl turned to her left, climbed on the girl sitting beside her to put a finger on the boy's mouth.
« This word will never be used in the same sentence as his name. » After a second thought, « Also, I know where you were going with that one Suho- » She said between gritted teeth. The boy didn't appear the least bothered by the glare sent to him.
« I don't know what you're talking about. »
« Cough- » Nayun turned to face Yeonha and just took conscience of how close they were in this position. « Mind climbing off my lap would you?- »
They were never going to talk about that one again.
He always cares about Chae Nayun, and hate to see her getting hurt. Jonghak usually make a sarcastic remark when he feels inferior to other people.
« There is something wrong with that one here! » Yeonha raised her voice at that. Nayun yawned at the interruption- She didn't take it like an interruption more like a life-saving break.

Shin Jonghak's ancestor was said to be a prime minister who served a past king whilst Shin Jonghak's grandfather, Shin Myungchul , was a Hero who was revered for helping people after Outcall.
« That ain't his history here. » A forming frown was visible one Yeonha's face while Nayun was protesting next to her.
« True! Where is the tea so I can blackmail him?? » Rachel appeared to be in the same conflict as the other two and began ranting about her disappointment too.
« Yeah I was waiting for that one too! »
Meanwhile, Jonghak looked at them in disbelief, he can't determine if these girls were serious or joking around.
« Did they finally lose it? » Suho sighed at the exasperation in the white head's voice.
« I'm afraid we've long lost them since Hajin's apparition. »

All eyes were now directed to the boy in question. Sweat was forming on his forehead as he was preparing a believable justification in his mind.

Jonghak turned away from their gaze as he felt something creeping on his neck. Unfortunately, he knew exactly what it was and there was no way in hell he was showing such a vulnerable side of himself to the other cadets in the room.

The warmth that previously crept to his neck ceased and he had a calmer demeanour now so he should be able to feign his proud façade… Well that was the plan he made up in his head but when he came back to his senses, the other four were looking at him with that stupid glint of amusement in their eyes!
How unfit for someone like him- Especially with the smirk Nayun had on her face that wouldn't go away-

He actually was caught off guard by her comment but quickly changed the subject to avoid further suspicions.

Nothing was heard. The four other cadets looked at the scene wheezed- He was about to argue with the voice because where came the audacity to ignore his question but something bright appeared on the screen lighting the room:

« Stop with those bullets I already had my take. » Jonghak looked at the blond through exasperated eyes… He wanted to shift the attention he had to someone else and escape another round of sarcastic comments.

Meanwhile, Suho was worried the screen would display his past. He never told anyone about it and seeing how this weird system managed to know quite a handful on their future, his secret was probably no exception to its knowledge.
When he learned he was the next one to be reacted to, he couldn't shake off his worry. He didn't want to seem suspicious at first but he may not be able to hide it when the others learn about it.
He carries a special secret that he hasn't revealed to a nyone.

The revelation did have an effect on the cadets. The so called protagonist of their story held a deep secret he never told anyone before. Not that surprising but just how much is it big to make Suho withdraw such an expression?

The look on the cadets' face was stern as they waited for the anticipated revelation.
They knew nothing about Suho's origins from the start but learning the fact that he had one little thing in common with the mysterious Hajin was really thriving and him guarding secrets awakened their curiosity.

« I mean; a protagonist always has a complicated backstory so I don't really understand how we didn't anticipate it when we learned about your role in this world. »

But because the temple was located in the rural countryside far away from the capital, the nuns couldn't provide him with the education he wanted no matter how hard they tried.

Then one day, a retired knight visited the temple. The nuns introduced Eren to the knight. The knight wanted a successor but had no child. Eren was the perfect match.
With a mutual understanding, Eren became the knight's student.
« How is it a perfect match though?? » *Jonghak*
« Su- I mean Eren couldn't be provided of the education he wanted and the knight was searching for a child to carry his legacy and thus making him learn what he couldn't in the first place. » *Rachel*

Nayun looked at her baffled.
