I yarn as I tip back from my perch on the light pole and transition to a flawless flip to land on the street on my feet (I even did it in sandals I'm currently wearing) and after brushing my nice hakama pants and readjusting my haori to sit better on my shoulders I start my trek to find something to do.
Satan Lucifer didn't really give me any instructions other than look around and investigate if the supernatural exists on this earth and from the incredibly thin magic in the air (other than the open floodgates of nature energy my body realises to help this Gaia's) there isn't likely to be anything beyond maybe basic boosted talents corresponding to what a person's origin would be, but that can happen is a world with no magic too.
So with a shrug and no clue on what to do I just wonder getting gawked at by passerbyers and letting people record me because I really didn't care and theyed just think is was a cape.
It took a full 20 minutes for something to happen and as per the settings genre it was fucking dark.
I just stared as I watched hookwolf slowly move through the air closer to the clearly Asian couple Infront of him and to be honest I could understand why he was so scary to the people of this earth, I mean the man (and I use that word lightly for this coward attacking unpowered people) looked like a cross between a Pitbull named Princess or maybe cupcake and a blender made completely of chainsaws.
I thought for a moment if I was allowed to interfere but then I remembered that I didn't really care and that if I could save a life I will.
POV change 3rd person
It happened in an instant, one moment he and his wife were going to die painful deaths by a nazi that should have been killed already and the next what he could have sworn was an actual kami stood in-between them and hookwolf.
It took longer than he would like to admit for him to realise that the man Infront of him probably wasn't a kami (he was still wasn't really sure that he wasn't) but as the metal monstrosity that was hookwolf get closer the man in the traditional haori slowly (to his currently adrenaline amped brain) unsheathed the blade he hadn't noticed from his side and effortlessly redirected all the Nazis momentum away from both him and his wife but also the rubble of the building he was sure had more people inside it.
"I will ask only once" the man spoke in a gentle almost delicate voice "leave these people alone and go back to your home and I will let you leave peacefully" it took all his own strength to not beg the kami to slay the monster of a man here and now but as the kami continued speaking he understood the man's reasons.
"These people are injured and need medical attention and I am sure your own people need some as well, so please this is my final offer" as the man looked back to the collection of injured man, woman and children now gathered around him and his wife Shiro would remember the man's face and gentle smile forever, it was the face of a pridefull father and a loving mother, it was the smile that radiated more peace than he had ever felt and the man himself felt like Amaterasu in mortal flesh.
"I ain't gonna listen to a chink fuck about what I can and can't do" the snarl that hookwolf released would have normally terrified the civilians in the area but as they looked at the swordsman square his shoulder and raise his blade into a forward stance they knew they would be alright.
"Then I apologise for what I must do" with his peace said and his stance set the swordsman released a breath that whistled as it left his lungs "may you find peace in the next life" with the barest of a whisper that everybody seemed to hear no matter how softly it was spoken the swordsman flickered from view to land on the other side of the Nazi with a gentle tap as his foot once more touched the earth.
With his work done the man flicked his sword to remove the non-existent blood and slowly sheathed the blade in a surprisingly gentle manner, when the click of hand guard meeting sheath the frozen form of hookwolf fell apart into small chunks of metal and blood.
The man released his hold on the sheath and put his hands into a prayer muttering a small apology for the lose of life that his absence had resulted in before he shrugged off his haori and folded it neatly and handing it to Shiro for the moment and kneeled on the floor to start digging through the rubble of the collapsed building with his hands.
Others tried to help the man but none were as fast or as effective as the man so they instead took over securing the wounded and trying to recognise the dead.
For 20 minutes the man continued digging through the rubble with his hands even as more and more people tryed to help or even get the man to stop and rest but none could persuade him and none could keep up with his relentless pace of digging.
As more time passed some of the civilian noticed the incoming sounds of sirens and the recognisable rumble of Armsmasters tinker tech bike.
But even as EMS and police arrived the man didn't stop digging, even when a resident told them that there wasn't anybody else in the building he continued, even as the sun started setting and the people started wondering if the man had lost his mind he continued.
As it reached 6pm the man finally reached what he was looking for and with a heave that shook the entire street (he was using very little streath as to not collapse any pockets that survivors were trapped in) the man ripped a solid steel trap door that's only recognisable feature was a snake coiled around itself clean out of the ground along with its frame before placing the door on the ground and jumping down the hole into darkness.
