Charles murmured under his breath, "I wish I had a family like that…"
Seraphina looked at him thoughtfully, then asked, "By the way, Charles… are you joining the student council staff?"
Charles froze. "H-how do you know that?" he stammered, surprised.
He laughed nervously. "Oh… yeah, I was thinking about it…"
Seraphina frowned. "You? Useless."
Edward's eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward. "Charles is not useless. He'll be helping me, not you.,
Seraphina scowled at him while Edeline raised her hands. "Hey, calm down! Let's just eat. The food's getting cold."
And with that, they all turned their attention to their lunch, the earlier tension melting away as laughter and chatter slowly returned to the table.
