Chapter 34 - Route 4

📓 Evan's Journal

Month 2, Day 04

Location: Route 4

Time: 02:00 PM

Professor Kukui, Mr. Bramble and I were walking through Route 4, till now we found three Pokémon in this area: Mudbray, Lillipup, and Pikipek.

Mudbray

Type: Ground

Mudbray is a donkey-like Pokémon known for its stubborn but hardworking nature. It has a rugged, earthy brown body, strong legs, and loves to stomp in the dirt. Native to more rural or undeveloped routes like Route 4, Mudbray is known for its physical strength and resilience. Despite its small size, it can carry or tow heavy loads with ease. It thrives in open terrain and gets stronger the more it stays grounded—literally. If its hooves get wet or muddy, it gets tougher, not slower.

In battle, Mudbray has a notable ability called Stamina, which raises its Defence every time it gets hit, making it a tanky and durable opponent over time.

Lillipup

Type: Normal

Lillipup is an adorable, scruffy little puppy Pokémon with alert eyes and a curious personality. While it may look like a lapdog, it's surprisingly brave and intelligent. Trainers often underestimate it due to its small size and cute appearance, but it's quite observant and loyal. Lillipup is known to assess its opponents before acting, rarely backing down if it senses a fair fight.

It evolves into Herdier and then into Stoutland, becoming more powerful and reliable as it grows. Lillipup's design and demeanour are based on small herding or companion dogs like Yorkshire Terriers.

Pikipek

Type: Normal/Flying

Pikipek is a woodpecker Pokémon known for its rapid-fire pecking and noisy cries. With its sharp beak, it can drill into wood at an amazing speed and often stores food in the holes it creates. Pikipek's pecking has a rhythm to it, and it sometimes drums on trees as a form of communication. It's small, fast, and can be very territorial.

As it evolves into Trumbeak and then Toucannon, it becomes more powerful and gains a stronger focus on ranged attacks using its beak. Pikipek often attacks from above or darts in quickly for hit-and-run strikes.

Each of these Pokémon fits Route 4's early-game, nature-themed atmosphere. Mudbray adds earthy power, Lillipup brings charm and loyalty, and Pikipek introduces the quick, unpredictable danger of aerial attackers.

After collecting data, Prof. Kukui and Mr. Bramble continued the journey, while I had already taken the photos of the Pokémon.

I also had Thorn, Trixie and Grip. Fight with a few of these Pokémon to increase their battle experience.

Now we are on the way to Paniola Town. It's a small town.
