Stella stood at the entrance of the hospital, unable to muster the courage to step inside. She was terrified of facing the outcome. Yet, leaving without knowing felt like giving up, and she couldn't accept that. She had sacrificed so much for Hyland Riley, enduring countless criticisms. She refused to lose everything now.
Taking a deep breath, Stella placed a hand on her belly. She was carrying Hyland's child, and that was her greatest assurance. With this thought, her spirits lifted slightly. Just as she was about to enter, she heard a familiar yet distant voice behind her. Her eyes widened, and she instinctively stepped aside to hide.
"I'm going out for a bit later, so don't wait up for me," Crystal Foster said as she got out of the car, instructing the driver before striding into the hospital.
