Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 24:What did you do to me?"

Chapter 24: What did you do to me?"

Mom, is it really true?"

Belle stopped crying, but her little eyes were still red, and her tiny nose twitched as she asked.

"Of course it's true! If you don't believe me, just ask your dad!"

Michelle Allen replied gently, giving Chasel Mills a knowing wink.

Chasel Mills immediately nodded vigorously. "Yep, Dad isn't going on a mission tonight. I'm staying here with Belle."

"Yay!" Belle's face lit up with a smile. She stretched out her little arms toward Chasel."Daddy, hug!"

Chasel quickly scooped Belle up, playfully tossing her in the air for a while, making her giggle with delight.

Seeing her daughter so happy, Michelle Allen took Belle to the bathroom for a bath.

Afterward, Belle changed into a cute pink pajama set. Michelle had planned to carry her straight to bed, but Belle insisted on playing with Chasel, so Michelle didn't stop her.

Then, Michelle took a quick shower herself, washing off her light makeup. However, this time, she didn't change into her usual silk nightgown. Instead, she opted for a clean outfit.

After all, it wouldn't be appropriate to wear anightgown to bed with a man she barely knew.

"You should wash up too, but I don't have any clothes for you to change into," Michelle said as she stepped out.

Chasel nodded in agreement.

After freshening up, Chasel Mills didn't change his clothes.

When he stepped out of the bathroom, Michelle Allen had already taken Belle into the bedroom.

The two of them were lying on the bed, playing with Belle's teddy bear.

As soon as Belle saw Chasel, she exclaimed, "Daddy, come here!"Chasel didn't mind at all, but he couldn't help feeling a bit awkward. After all, he had only known Michelle for two days.

Michelle, on the other hand, felt even more embarrassed. Her fair skin was flushed with a rosy hue, and she found it hard to meet Chasel's gaze.

When Chasel walked into the bedroom,Michelle finally spoke up, "You sleep over there!"

She pointed to the side of the bed next to Belle, while she would take the other side, with Belle in between them.

Chasel nodded and sat down on the bed.

Fortunately, Belle didn't remember what she had said the night before about wanting Chasel to hold her in one arm and Michelle in the other.

Instead, she eagerly pulled Chasel over and began introducing him to her collection of dolls.

"Daddy, look! This one is you, and this one is Mommy. And this tiny one is me..."With Belle's lively chatter, the initial awkwardness that hung over the bedroom gradually faded between Chasel and Michelle.

Belle's energy was limited, and before long, she had dozed off, leaning against Chasel Mills.

"I've noticed that ever since you came along, Belle doesn't cling to me as much anymore," Michelle Allen said, a hint of jealousy in her voice.

Chasel Mills chuckled awkwardly. "Maybe it's because Belle didn't have a dad around, and now that I'm here, I'm filling that gap for her. She'll get used to it in time."

However, Michelle's expression darkened athis words. She replied coolly, "Just sleep."

With that, she turned off the lights.

Chasel Mills realized he had misspoken and decided to keep quiet.

Emily lay on the edge of the bed, trying to keep her distance from Michelle to avoid any misunderstandings.

The bedroom fell into a hushed silence, filled only with the soft sounds of three breaths—two adults and one child.

Yet, despite the calm atmosphere, Chasel Mills found it hard to sleep. After all, no matter how far apart they lay, they were still sharing the same bed.The faint scent wafting from the blanket made Chasel Mills, a young man full of vigor, feel a bit unsettled.

On the other side, Michelle Allen appeared calm, but inside, she was feeling a bit anxious. She was tense and couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Even though she trusted Chasel, he was still a man, and she worried that he might suddenly give in to his primal instincts and do something inappropriate.

About half an hour later, Chasel suddenly turned over, trying to adjust his sleeping position and willing himself to fall asleep. However, at that moment, Michelle jolted awake, sitting up with a look of alarm on her face as she stared at Chasel. "What are you doing?"Chasel was taken aback. "You're still awake?" he asked, feeling a bit awkward.

But hearing his question, Michelle's voice turned icy. "You thought I was asleep and wanted to do something, didn't you?"

Realizing that Michelle had misunderstood him, Chasel quickly clarified, "I just turned over to find a comfortable position to sleep, that's all."

Michelle paused, momentarily caught off guard.

"I'm sorry, I thought you..." Michelle Allen said apologetically.

"It's okay. After all, we're not married; we've only known each other for two days. It's perfectly normal for you to be cautious," Chasel Mills replied softly, careful not to wake Belle. "But don't worry, I promise I won't overstep any boundaries."

"Mm-hmm." Michelle nodded gently and slowly lay back down.

After that, Chasel didn'tdare to move again. The faint, pleasant scent lingering in the bed calmed his restless heart, bringing him a sense of tranquility.

Michelle also stopped overthinking. Gradually, both of them drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

The next morning, just as dawn began to break, a sudden cry jolted Chasel awake before his usual 6 AM alarm. He opened his eyes wide, and after a moment of confusion, his mind cleared instantly.

However, the next moment, Chasel froze in place. He realized that someone was resting on his arm. A snow-white arm, as delicate as a lotus root, was draped over his chest, while a long leg—perfectly proportioned—lay across his own.

Chasel tilted his head to look.

Just then, their eyes met—still a bit dazed, Michelle Allen gradually opened her hazy eyes.

Her long eyelashes fluttered as she blinked.

The distance between them was just inches apart!Chasel Mills could even feel her breath, warm and soft, brushing against his ear.

A faint, pleasant scent wafted into his nose.

Meanwhile, Michelle's initially dazed expression suddenly turned wide-eyed in shock.

Silence!

One second!

Two seconds!

Three seconds!

"Ah!"

Michelle let out a startled scream. She abruptly pushed Chasel away.

"What did you do to me?"

Michelle sat up quickly, her face showing signs of panic, her voice icy cold.

As she spoke, she raised her hand, ready to slap Chasel across the face.
