Right now, Ian has left the living room.
Otherwise, he would certainly be able to connect Clark's injuries to the plane crash that hadn't been completely rescued this morning, and it was clear that Superman had encountered a rather mysterious crisis.
Certainly,
Even if he knew this situation, Ian couldn't do anything. He was still very weak, and anything that could hurt Superman was definitely not something he could get close to now.
In the corridor on the second floor, Ian chatted with his two brothers for a while, using his talent as a writer, and then returned to his room. Jonathan was still outside yelling at Ian to exercise with him.
"I'll add exercise to my schedule!" Ian responded through the door. After listening to their footsteps gradually fading away, he sat down on his bed.
"What the hell is going on here?" He opened his coat again and pulled out the pendant from under his shirt. It was still glowing, the dark light flickering like breathing.
The black light was imprinted on Ian's face, driving away the lights in the room. Ian frowned and raised the pendant to his eyes to examine it carefully.
His main purpose was to find the evil spirit in the pendant.
"Is anyone there? Say hello?" Ian tapped the pendant with his fingers. It was just a boring action without any clue, but he never thought that it seemed to really play some role.
As soon as the words fell.
The pendant's light suddenly flickered violently, and the frequency became faster and faster, as if responding to his question. Ian's breathing stagnated, and he subconsciously looked down below his line of sight.
There were no additional negative states.
"Buzz~"
The pendant suddenly began to tremble slightly, and the metal lines on the surface of the pendant began to twist and wriggle, stretching out like a living thing, as if some kind of door had been opened. Then, strands of black substance flowed out of the pendant, floating lightly like silk, and slowly intertwined in the air very softly.
Ian's eyes widened.
He watched as the black matter condensed and reorganized in front of him, and finally, it actually formed a sentence. A serious sentence, just like the English in an English textbook.
[An interesting life deserves to be rewarded. ]
The words floated in the air.
The shape was neat, just like a gentleman's writing.
Each stroke exudes an ancient and mysterious atmosphere. The words were suspended in the air, swaying slightly, as if blown by an invisible wind and could float away at any time.
"What the hell?"
Ian was a little confused. He stretched out his hand, wanting to touch the words, but just as his fingertips were about to touch them, the black words suddenly collapsed like spilled ink.
"Crash~"
They swirl and converge in the air like stirred ink.
Ian seemed to hear a familiar wail.
That was the voice of the evil nun spirit from before.
"Sure enough! It ran into the pendant!" Ian was amazed at his previous clever guess, but he also realized that perhaps the evil spirit of the nun did not actively enter the pendant.
Soon, as the evil spirit's wailing sound disappeared, the black substance finally condensed into a thumb-sized black crystal floating in the air in front of Ian.
It fell slowly.
Ian hesitated for a moment and then reached out to catch it.
The moment the crystal fell into his palm, a cold touch spread along his skin, as if he were holding the ice deep in the polar regions, or as if he were truly touching a cold soul.
"The pendant gave me a gift?" Ian muttered to himself, holding the crystal up to the light and observing it carefully. He hesitated, wondering if he should swallow it all at once. The inside of the black crystal was not completely transparent, but a kind of flowing shadow could be vaguely seen, like imprisoned mist.
It doesn't look like it's very delicious.
"But it seems very hard," Ian swore that he just wanted to try which one was harder, the black crystal or his teeth. Even if his teeth were broken, he could still complete today's "leveling up".
However, it was this curiosity that almost frightened him. How should I put it? There was no sense of crisis, but the turn of events was completely beyond his expectations.
The black crystal had just approached Ian's mouth, and before Ian even licked it to taste the saltiness, it went straight along Ian's lips and turned into a cool liquid and went into his mouth.
It really melted in the mouth and was refined in an instant.
There was no bitterness and no evil burning sensation. Instead, it was like a sip of ice-cold spring water, refreshing and penetrating to the bones, and instantly blending into every part of the body, a bit like slippery jelly.
An unprecedented sense of clarity swept over his brain.
Ian felt stronger. In particular, the mental state has improved significantly.
That's not all.
[Strength: 5.6--5.8]
[Constitution: 4.5--4.7]
[Intelligence: 2.4--2.6]
[Spirit: 4.2--6.8]
It's not just the [Spirit] and [Intelligence] attributes that have improved, even the [Strength] and [Physique] attributes have improved slightly. Of course, the [Spirit] attribute has improved the most.
This was even greater than what Ian had estimated the level of growth would be after eating the remaining evil spirits, and it even directly caused him, as a [Berserker], to become a state where his [Spirit] was stronger than his [Strength].
It is true that the bloodline is impure.
"I didn't expect it was a gift." Ian was delighted at first, but then he discovered that a particularly strange pattern had appeared on the back of his hand without him knowing when.
The shape was weird, like black eyes.
"Is this the price for pie in the sky?" Ian was a little surprised, but not panicked. He tried to rub it hard with his other hand, but failed to rub it off.
The skin was rubbed red, but the pattern remained motionless.
It's like a brand.
Ian subconsciously looked at his status bar, thinking that there would be a new negative status, but he never expected that the original negative status of [Soul Corruption] had disappeared.
In its place is a new status display.
"No wonder I feel like I've lost a lot of wisdom." Ian felt a little regretful. He believed that the state of [Soul Corruption] could definitely bring him surprises at certain moments.
However, he never thought it would disappear so quietly.
He didn't even wave his sleeves.
No time to say goodbye to a beloved negative effect.
The status bar that now appeared in the original position also looks like a pair of eyes, the same as the pattern on the back of Ian's hand. It is obviously an "official" explanation of the brand on the back of Ian's hand.
Only, it was different from the negative state that Ian likes. It is a state without any effect. When imposed on Ian, it couldn't bring any changes to him.
[Death Knight Dependent]
Only the name of the state reveals what it is.
