Liam, Jake, Allison, and Emily were determined to gather more evidence to take down Sophia and Mr. Johnson. They had been investigating for two days now, but every lead seemed to end in a dead-end.
Three days later, as they were walking down the hallway, they noticed a figure watching them from the shadows, at first, they were dumbfounded, but As they approached, the figure stepped forward, revealing none other than Sophia's best friend, Rachel.
They all flinched in utmost amazement, thinking she was here on Sophia's behalf and was the one watching their every movement. Liam wasted no time on hitting the banter.
"Rachel, what are you doing here?" Liam asked, surprised.
Rachel looked around nervously before leaning in close. "I've been watching you guys, and I have to say, I'm impressed. You're the first people to ever stand up to Sophia." Rachel commended, with quite a surprised tone
Allison's eyes narrowed. "What do you want, Rachel?"
Rachel took a deep breath before speaking. She had been vying for this moment to come, and here it is
"I want to help you. I've been Sophia's friend for years, but I've realized that she's not the person I thought she was. She's manipulative and cruel, and I don't want to be a part of it anymore."
The group exchanged sceptical glances like they had planned i5 beforehand, with Emily and Alllison not believing what they had just heard, Could they really trust Rachel?
Jake clapped and chuckled. He stepped forward a little before speaking
"What makes you think we'll trust you?" Jake asked, with a tone accompanied with a wild smirk
Rachel wasted no time in pulling out a small folder from her backpack, which she immediately showed them, handing it over to Liam in person.
"I've been gathering evidence against Sophia for months. I have recordings, documents, and witness statements. I'll give it all to you if you promise to protect me, I want to be free from Sophia, and I know my freedom can only be granted if you guys can help me,"
Liam's eyes widened as he took the folder from Rachel. This could be the break they needed to take down Sophia. But they could not really trust Rachel, this might be another plan fueled by Sophia.
But just as they were about to celebrate, Rachel's expression turned serious like she had some other information she wanted to reveal, and she did have, which made her speak up again.
"There's something else you need to know," she said. "Sophia's not the only one who's been manipulating people. There's someone else, someone who's been pulling the strings from behind the scenes."
The group exchanged confused glances. Who could Rachel be talking about?
"Who is it?" Emily asked.
Rachel's eyes locked onto Liam's. "It's your father, Liam, and the principal."
Liam's eyes widened in shock. What? That couldn't be true!
They weren't surprised by the principal's allegations since Sophia told them that herself, but Liam's father's involvement was enough for the surprise
But before he could process the information, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway. Sophia had caught them red-handed
And she was not happy. She noticed Liam trying to hide something behind him. She caught a glimpse of it, but she was unable to pinpoint the exact item, but she was sure that whatever the item might be, it was related to her.
"Well, well, well," Sophia said, with her voice dripping with malice. "Look what we have here. Rachel, you traitor." She smirked at Rachel.
Rachel stood tall, despite the fear in her eyes. "I'm not a traitor, Sophia. I'm just tired of being a part of your games."
Sophia sneered. "You'll pay for this, Rachel. And as for you," she turned to Liam and his friends, "you'll never take me down. My father will make sure of it."
Liam's eyes narrowed. "We'll see about that."
But before they could do anything, Rachel grabbed Liam's arm. "We need to get out of here, now."
Liam nodded, and they all quickly followed Rachel down the hallway. They could hear Sophia's angry shouts behind them, but they didn't look back.
As they ran, Liam's mind was racing. What did Rachel mean about his father? Was it true?
He didn't have time to think about it now. They needed to get to a safe place and figure out their next move.
They finally reached the school entrance and burst through the doors, gasping for air. Emily even almost passed out due to the fatigue.
"We need to get out of here," Rachel said, looking around nervously. "Sophia will stop at nothing to get us."
Liam nodded. "We'll go to my house. It's safe there."
They proceeded to walk to Liam's house and settled there to figure out what's the nest plan
As they walked to Liam's house, they were all silent, lost in their own thoughts.
Liam's mind was still reeling from the revelation about his father. He couldn't believe it.
But he knew he had to focus on the present. They had to take down Sophia and Mr. Wilson, no matter what it took.
As they reached Liam's house, they all breathed a sigh of relief. They were safe, for now.
But as they walked inside, Liam's mother was waiting for them, a look of concern on her face.
"Liam, what's going on?" she asked.
Liam hesitated, unsure of how much to tell her.
But before he could say anything, Rachel spoke up.
"Liam's father is involved in some shady business, Mrs. Spencer, We need to talk to him."
Liam's mother's expression changed from concern to shock.
"What are you talking about?" she asked.
Liam took a deep breath. "We'll explain everything, mom. But first, we need to talk to dad."
His mother nodded, still looking shocked. "Okay, he isn't at home now, let him return. Are u all gonna wait for him,"
"Or let me phone him,"
"Okay, mum, you should probably do so. The matter is more complicated,"
As they all walked to the living room, Liam's heart was racing. What would his father say?
Would he deny everything, or would he finally tell the truth?
Liam was about to find out.
