Chapter 51 - Chapter 3: Invasion from Another World

Horne didn't think a small town could pose any significant threat, but it was strange that this small town was heavily guarded.

As far as Horne knew, few small towns set up checkpoints at the entrance to interrogate passers - by.

So, just in case, Horne sent Enoch out to investigate. Their goal was to go to the God - Forsaken Land, and they didn't want to get involved in potentially troublesome things blindly.

True to expectations, Enoch came back excitedly about an hour later.

"What happened?" Ian Park sensed Enoch's mood and asked with interest.

He could sense people's emotions slightly, but he couldn't detect what they were specifically thinking.

"No one in the town knew, so I went to the church outside the town and asked the priest there about the situation."

Enoch said with a self - satisfied look on his face.

"Going to the priest... Were you guys always that brave before? I'm really impressed!" Matchstick Daniel looked at Horne and the other two with admiration.

Horne and Annie pointed at Enoch, meaning that only Enoch was brave.

Enoch rolled his eyes. That crazy plan before wasn't his idea!

But he wouldn't say it out loud, after all, Horne was his boss.

"It's not difficult to confuse that priest. He's just a first - order priest. It's a piece of cake."

Although there was an element of boasting in what he said, it wasn't much of an exaggeration. Enoch had always trained very hard. His magic power and spiritual power had almost reached the standard of a second - ring magician, but he didn't have the matching illusion spells to learn.

So he had been working hard recently to engrave the magic circle of the water mist spell in his consciousness space.

As for the other wild witches, they didn't have the ability to enter their own consciousness space, including Annie.

According to Horne's own standard, only wild witches who could enter their own consciousness space and see their own magic circles were qualified to be called magicians!

And once they could enter the consciousness space, they were actually not far from advancing to second - ring magicians.

So according to Horne's standard, there were only two real magicians in the team, Enoch and Horne.

"What information did you get from that priest? Tell us." Horne said softly.

"Hehe, this is a really big deal!"

Enoch said exaggeratedly, trying to attract everyone's attention.

Even Shirley, who was always cold, cast her eyes on Enoch.

Seeing that everyone was ready, Enoch began to tell:

"I'm afraid this matter is even bigger than what we did in Leon City! No, much bigger!"

"What could be bigger than what we did!" Everyone scoffed. What could be bigger than what they did? Did the chief priest die?

Enoch put on a serious look and said:

"Invasion from another world!"

Everyone, from the over - fifty - year - old to the fourteen - year - old Matchstick, looked incredulous.

After the initial shock, Horne nodded thoughtfully. He had long known about the existence of other worlds.

Not to mention anything else, his teacher, old Douglas, had once said that he was from a place called Earth, a world with a so - called technology - based power system.

Moreover, the creatures Annie summoned should also be from another world!

So he could accept this news better than others, but even Horne thought it was a bit incredible that there was a large - scale invasion from another world.

What they didn't know was that in fact, there had already been a real large - scale invasion from another world before, and this time was just a minor incident.

Enoch observed and was satisfied to see that everyone, including Horne, looked incredulous. This was exactly the effect he wanted.

"Wait, I have a question." Hoe raised his hand.

Enoch, who was about to start a long - winded account, was interrupted and almost choked.

"What's the question? Speak." Enoch asked Hoe with a disgruntled look.

"What is another world?" Hoe Luke asked shyly, and the other wild witches also looked at him curiously. Not everyone knew about the existence of other worlds like Horne did.

"The so - called other world is a world outside of Ceylon. Our world doesn't exist independently. There should be other worlds outside of Ceylon, such as the world where Annie's summoned creatures come from."

Horne explained. He liked the feeling of teaching others, so he usually rushed to answer such questions.

"Oh!" Luke scratched his head simply and honestly. It was not clear whether he understood or not.

Some of the other wild witches also showed a look of sudden realization on their faces.

After Horne explained the concept of the other world, Enoch continued to tell the news he had gathered.

"This invasion from another world happened in Yoka City. A small city next to Kano City was invaded by creatures from another world, and all the humans in the city were massacred! The creatures from another world that invaded Yoka City were those blue creatures we met before!"

All the wild witches were stunned, and even Horne couldn't control his expression. What did a small city mean? You know, there were only more than a hundred cities within the sphere of influence of the Northern Wind God Church!

Even just a small city was shocking enough!

"And then?" Black Dog Terry asked eagerly. He was a battle - maniac and was very interested in big scenes like massacres and great battles.

"Then, the big shots in the Northern Wind City took action and completely defeated the creatures from another world that occupied Yoka City. All the escaped creatures from another world are being hunted down by the deacons of the church!"

Enoch went to the table and took a piece of dry food to eat. He was really hungry. He had just arrived at the inn and hadn't eaten anything when Horne told him to go and gather information.

Thinking of this, Enoch gave Horne a resentful look, which made Horne's hair stand on end and his skin crawl.

Hearing that the matter had been resolved, everyone was relieved. They had a grudge against the church and didn't have a good impression of the superstitious church - goers who persecuted wild witches, but the massacre of those people was still not a pleasant thing.

Although some of them didn't even know what another world was...

Enoch stuffed food into his mouth while speaking, and the crumbs of the dry food kept falling out:

"All the creatures from another world still in Ceylon will be wiped out by the church soon. The blue creature we met before should also be an escaped one.

This matter will be resolved soon, and it has nothing to do with us, so everyone can sleep peacefully."

"Pfft!" Black Dog spat. It felt so anticlimactic. He had been looking forward to a wonderful battle story, but suddenly it was said to have been suppressed forcefully.
