Chapter 30 - Two weeks of Peace

For the first time in years, the world wasn't calling them to battle. No ancient beings, no monster hordes, no dark omens. Just the open sky, gentle waves, and the quiet laughter of a family finally allowed to rest.

Ryu, Reina, Mina, and Caline set off on a long-awaited family tour — something simple, something human.

---

The First Camp

Their first stop was the tranquil Elarin Woods, a lush, green forest cradled between peaceful hills.

They pitched tents together. Ryu struggled with the stakes while Reina smirked and fixed them in seconds. Caline gathered firewood like it was a competition, while Mina roasted marshmallows with delicate precision.

> "Don't burn them, Auntie Mina!"

"They're just caramelized…"

"It's black."

"Artistic black."

That night, they sat around the fire. Ryu played a small wooden flute, a skill he'd once learned during training. Caline lay curled against Reina's side, watching stars twinkle through the treetops.

The Beachside Bliss

Three days later, they arrived at Aureal Coast, a breathtaking beach known for its golden sand and warm, glittering water.

Reina wore a pale lavender swimsuit that made Ryu awkwardly glance away every five seconds. Mina lounged under a wide umbrella, sipping iced fruit juice. Caline built sandcastles, each more elaborate than the last.

> "Dad, look! This is Castle Arc!"

"That's… surprisingly accurate," Ryu blinked. "Is that the east training ground?"

"Yup! And this is where you spar with mom!"

"...Why is mom twice my size?"

"Because she always wins!"

Later, Ryu and Reina raced across the waves using flash steps, turning it into a friendly challenge that ended with Reina pushing Ryu into the water. He dragged her in with him. Mina laughed so hard she nearly spilled her drink.

Moments Between the Chaos

Each night, they found an inn or set up a new camp. There were small towns, kind villagers, local festivals, and quiet meals under the stars.

Mina bought Caline a sky lantern.

Reina carved a small wooden pendant for Ryu.

Ryu taught Caline how to catch falling leaves using only her breath — something simple, something real.

For two whole weeks, they were just a family.

Not warriors. Not legends. Just them.

---

Final Day

As they packed up to return home, Caline whispered:

> "Can we do this again next year?"

Reina and Ryu looked at each other and smiled.

> "Yes," Reina said softly.

"No matter what," Ryu added.

Even if the world changed, even if war returned, they would fight to protect this: their home, their peace, their daughter.

And for now, for this fleeting moment in history—

They had won.
