Chapter 5 - [5]. Ausbi’er's Great Ape Transformation

Three months had passed since Kaso and Ausbi'er arrived on Planet Mumu.

As their power levels steadily increased, most of the high-level beasts on the planet had already been wiped out.

That night, Kaso and Ausbi'er sat around a crackling bonfire. Two wild boars were skewered nearby, roasting over the flames.

The fat on the boars sizzled loudly, dripping steadily onto the ground. A closer look revealed a shiny, greasy patch of dirt beneath the pit—soaked from the oil oozing out of the meat.

The boars were nearly done, giving off a mouthwatering aroma.

Ausbi'er reached out her tiny hand and grabbed one of the roasted boars.

She brought it to her mouth and took a big bite.

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside—perfectly cooked.

As the hot meat filled her mouth, she had to keep sucking in little breaths of air to cool it down between bites.

"Kaso-gege, your cooking is amazing! This meat is so delicious!"

Her little cheeks puffed as she spoke, munching eagerly.

"Of course it's good! Who do you think grilled it?"

Kaso couldn't help grinning at her satisfied look. The aroma had already made him hungry too, so he grabbed the other boar and began tearing into it.

"Bii'er, our mission's complete. In a few days, we'll be leaving this planet."

He gnawed on a boar leg, then paused, picking his teeth with a twig.

"Okay! I'll go wherever you go, gege."

Ausbi'er didn't even look up as she spoke, still focused on stuffing her face.

Wherever Kaso went, she'd follow—that was all that mattered to her.

Kaso glanced over and chuckled.

Her chubby little legs were folded beneath her as she sat in front of the fire, her cheeks stuffed like a squirrel. With the firelight flickering against her soft features, she looked just like a living porcelain doll.

In that moment, the soul of a twenty-something adult within Kaso couldn't help but feel a little dazed by her cuteness—his face even turned slightly red.

Is this what they call raising a loli...?

He shook his head, laughing inwardly, and continued eating.

After months of hard training and countless missions, both Kaso and Ausbi'er had shed their rookie status.

They had fought hundreds of battles while clearing the planet's beasts, and their combat experience had grown exponentially.

Once, they'd even come close to being eaten by a savage beast. But that same battle caused Kaso's power level to surge—he had now broken through to 1,000.

Ausbi'er had reached 700.

At such a young age, this was an insane level of strength.

And they had Earth's training methods to thank for it.

If the two of them returned to Planet Vegeta now, it would cause a massive stir.

After all, when Raditz invaded Earth in the original series, his power level was only around 1,500. Even elite adult Saiyans weren't much stronger.

Raditz may have been weak, but these two six-year-olds were already rivaling some adults.

Kaso tossed the leftover bones into the distance.

There was only one year left until Planet Vegeta's destruction.

He had to get stronger—fast.

At this point, any returning flight paths to Planet Vegeta were likely already being monitored by Frieza.

Once this mission was done, their next destination was Planet Yardrat.

Yardrat was located in the 27th main star system of the Vega Constellation in the North Galaxy. It was close to Namek.

In the Namek Saga, after Goku defeated Frieza and Namek began exploding, he couldn't make it to his own ship in time. Frieza's ship had been damaged by Vegeta and wouldn't launch.

Everyone thought Goku had died.

But by pure chance, he found a ship left behind by the Ginyu Force—its next programmed destination was Planet Yardrat.

There, Goku spent a year learning Instant Transmission.

That technique... it was Kaso's dream.

If he ever faced someone he couldn't beat, he could teleport away. If he needed to visit a distant planet? Zip—gone in a flash.

Since the Saiyans worked under Frieza, their ships all carried a full galactic navigation map, including Yardrat's coordinates.

Back on Planet Vegeta, before takeoff, Kaso had already confirmed it—Yardrat was near Namek.

"Time to prep for the journey to Yardrat in the next few days," Kaso muttered to himself.

After a full meal, they lay side by side on vine-woven lounge chairs.

Kaso gently stroked Ausbi'er's silky black hair.

The night was peaceful.

A while later, Ausbi'er wriggled in his arms, her cheeks slightly flushed.

"Kaso-gege… I need to pee."

"Alright. I'll wait for you nearby."

He tapped her little nose teasingly.

"Mm!"

Ausbi'er climbed down from him and carefully got off the lounge chair.

Kaso followed her from a short distance.

The path to their toilet was wide, lined by trees, with insects humming softly around them.

They had cleared the trail themselves.

Ausbi'er walked down the path and entered a small wooden shed.

It was a simple outhouse—square-shaped, made from logs. Each wall was even in height, but there was no roof.

When building it, Kaso had thought, It's just a toilet, no need to go all out.

But the truth was... he had just been too lazy to finish it.

A few moments passed.

"Kaso-gege, the moon is so bright tonight! So round too!"

Ausbi'er's soft voice called out from inside.

"So bright? So round? Wait a second—"

Kaso's heart skipped a beat. He looked up.

A glowing full moon hung in the sky, as round as a golden egg yolk.

"Crap!"

Any Saiyan with a tail would transform into a Great Ape under a full moon.

Everyone knew that... except Goku.

"How is there a moon here?!"

He'd been on Planet Mumu for months and had never noticed a moon.

Bardock, you sly old fox...

Suddenly, Kaso's heart started pounding wildly.

Thump-thump-thump!

The precursor to transformation.

According to what he knew, only Saiyan royals or well-trained Elite-class warriors could retain their sanity after transforming into a Great Ape.

Although he was Elite-class, Kaso was still young and unsure if he could withstand the raging madness.

His heartbeat doubled. His eyes turned bloodshot, glowing like a beast. His face twisted into a feral snarl.

He let out a roar, body trembling violently.

BOOM—!

A massive surge of energy exploded from within.

The earth trembled beneath the pressure, and stones levitated as if gravity had vanished.

Kaso fought against the overwhelming rage hammering at his mind. In his mental sea, the last fragments of reason bobbed like a small boat in a storm—ready to capsize at any moment.

He couldn't risk it.

Gritting his teeth, he grabbed his tail—and ripped it off.

"Huff... huff... huff…"

Kaso dropped to one knee, panting heavily.

His face slowly calmed, the emerging ape fur receded—but his eyes were still red, veined with blood, glowing with fury.

Then—from the direction of the toilet—a thunderous roar erupted.

ROARRR! ROARRR!

A 20-meter-tall Great Ape towered in the clearing.

Its fur was golden-brown, its eyes gleamed crimson like rubies, and it pounded its chest like a drum, venting wild rage.

The outhouse Kaso had built was now splinters and rubble, destroyed during Ausbi'er's transformation.

Kaso gulped. The corner of his mouth twitched.

"Dammit… I should've just built a roof!"

Seeing Ausbi'er completely lose her mind, Kaso finally understood—

Even Elite-class Saiyans needed training to retain consciousness as a Great Ape.

This full moon… was Bardock's last resort for them.

If they ever faced a dire situation, transforming into Great Apes would give them a tenfold power boost, easily overwhelming any wild beast on Planet Mumu.

Bardock probably never imagined this would happen under non-combat conditions.

An accidental transformation triggered by a midnight bathroom break...

This really was going to kill Kaso.
