Chapter 4
The next few days were difficult for Nicolas, the whispers, the gossip, it followed him everywhere, but what was worse was.. Not only was Sabian avoiding him, but Kiona was too, leaving him alone. Then, in class, he had to complete a trial, to show off what he could do with his magic. That day, the entire academy was out on the field, demonstrating their powers one at a time. Soon enough, Kiona's turn came around, and it was revealed that she wielded Dark Magic.. "No wonder she fell from Heaven, she has evil powers! She really is a freak.." Sabian whispered to himself. Nicolas heard him, and Sabian's words boiled his blood. After that, it was his turn, and at first, he tried to show his "fake magic" to the academy, but suddenly, things became dire very quickly when they shifted to holy light. Nicolas collapsed to his knees, wrapping his arms around himself. The starlight was overwhelming for him, constellation runes glowing on his arms, his eyes now lavender. "Nicolas!" Kiona cried out. He looked back as the magic took over, squeezing his eyes shut in pain. His blond hair became pitch black and grew about 3 dozen feet, his skin becoming white as paper, growing antlers and wings. When Nicolas stood out of the light, he was.. a GIRL?! And not just that, a GODDESS. "Nicolas??"Sabian shakily asked. She looked straight at him and informed, "I am not Nicolas, the Prince of Lystera, I am Noxalyn, the Goddess of Zodiac Signs, Nicolas is my mask, this is what it hides.." With that, she passed out, the starlight changing her back to the Prince, who was unconscious as well, and he was teleported to his dorm at the academy.. "What WAS that?!" Sabian demanded. There were complaints from many of the students, until Kiona stepped up. "Guys stop! I'm sure he didn't mean what he was doing!" She defended. "Of course the freak is protecting 'his majesty', he obviously has a crush on you, you know, I bet you bewitched him into that thing using your powers! I bet you cursed him!" Sabian protested. Kiona sighed and retorted, "I don't think you're going to help him, so I am, because he deserves better friends than you." That genuinely stung Sabian.. Nicolas was shaking in their dorm, staring at nothing with terror in their eyes, it had been 8 years since they were that side of themselves.. They went to the bathroom and made themselves change back into Noxalyn, to see what they look like for themselves in the mirror. Then they realized, that when they were this side of themselves, they didn't itch, they didn't burn, instead, they felt.. free.. That night, they were faced with their parents once again and this time, they stood their ground. "You disappoint us son.." The King said. "Well too bad.." Nicolas mumbled. "Excuse me??" The Queen angrily asked. "I said that's too bad, but yes I have the face of man, but I have the blood of a Goddess, so now I will be what I am, and you can't stop me anymore, I am 18 years old and I am tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own body, I belong to myself, and myself alone, which means I control what I do with myself." They argued. "Get out.." The King ordered. "Gladly." Nicolas replied, clenching their teeth. With that, they stomped out and packed up, running away from the palace. That's when they realized however, they were afraid, they stopped and picked up their journal, and sadly wrote down, "Now I am more alone then ever.." TO BE CONTINUED..
