Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: White Ghost Part 9

Lyrus and the four others had decided to create a sect until he tamed the Dehedra.

Lyrus: I need the blood of your beasts in order for me to evolve and make them stronger.

He asked them to take blood samples from their beast companions, while Lyrus went to Ishvel and the others.

Ishvel: Master. (Ishvel came to greet him along with Vigil.)

Titus: (He also stopped training the drained Maverick.) Master.

Maverick: (Roared weakly.) Huf. Huf. (He was down on the ground.)

Lyrus: Oh, it seems all of you have gotten even stronger.

(Titus had also reached Legendary Rank. All of them had broken through to Legendary. The most surprising were Lanfer and Leonor, who evolved from Overlords to Legendary by consuming beasts and cores, and now their growth had skyrocketed, making them Mythical Beasts. He could feel their tremendous energies—especially Ishvel and Vigil.)

It's only a matter of time before you also break through to Mythical Rank.

Lyrus briefed them that Zakhar, Leonor, and Lanfer had already broken through into Mythical Beast rank. That made all of them set out to hunt and grow even stronger. They brought Silvio with them.

Maverick, on the other hand, was down. He couldn't stand due to his body aching from nonstop training. Lyrus healed him with white energy. He was already asleep. Then Lyrus brandished his white energy and tamed all seven beasts they had captured. All of them fell unconscious and recovered from their injuries, fully restored to health. He also took some of their blood samples.

Lyrus was extremely busy that day until nightfall, creating serums for all his new beasts, as well as those of Teo, Selso, Vania, and Logan.

The first ones he evolved were the Darokes, which became like Ruan. Selso's Daroke triggered a tribulation and evolved into Mythical Rank. With Lyrus's assistance, it grew even stronger. He enclosed Selso's Daroke in white energy, trapping both the tribulation and beast energy, and it evolved into a mighty being. It was now like Maverick—a humanoid Mythical Beast.

Logan's Borus also evolved into Mythical Rank. Its bear form shrunk and became more humanlike—but now more terrifying. He also had a legendary Zumurgad (Giant Armadillo), one of his beasts he had left in the Wildlands. It had also improved—now much stronger-looking, with enhanced defense, making it a mighty, armored giant armadillo. His Roroon (Black Spikes Porcupine), an Overlord beast tagging along with the Zumurgad, had also evolved into a Legendary Beast.

Vasha had evolved into a Sky Wyrm and reached Mythical Rank. She was now a dragon capable of flight, her appearance having changed into that of a true dragon.

Vania Denegra had turned into a terrifying Chaos Red Dragon and evolved into Mythical Rank. Vania Lyfilia had also evolved into a humanoid form—resembling an elf—now capable of nature control. She also had a black fox that had regrouped with her recently. It was an Arxen (Night Fox), a nocturnal-type beast and an Overlord. Lyrus evolved it into a Legendary Beast, and now it had two tails.

Selso's Legendary Tristrikals had evolved into Mythical Beasts in humanoid form, capable of extreme speed and lightning. The other six Tristrikals had also evolved and become Legendary Beasts, all of which also took humanoid forms. He also had a Gofrey (Parasitic Core Beast)—a rare, parasitic beast that always attaches to its master, granting Selso constant protection. It was a rare beast that could only be acquired overseas. With Lyrus's assistance, this beast evolved into Mythical Rank. Now, it not only protected Selso but also granted him transformation abilities through unification.

Miyo, Teo's beast, had also evolved—becoming an even stronger humanoid moth beast. It was only a matter of time before she too would reach Mythical Rank.

Domas also evolved into Mythical Rank—becoming larger, stronger, and more monstrous, now sporting black horns. He had become terrifyingly powerful. Teo's other five Tarfollios had also become Legendary Rank, evolving similarly to Domas.

Lyrus also evolved the Saneon, which had now become a White Cloud Thunder Wyrm and achieved Mythical Rank. The red Tarfollio had also evolved, becoming an Asura-like Kong with four arms and reaching Mythical Rank. The Vendissa had evolved into a fully human-like form with devil horns and a demoness aura. Rougul had become an Earth Elemental—a dual-elemental lifeform of earth and nature. It had taken on an elven humanoid evolution, directly achieving Mythical Rank—an evolution that defied natural law. Originally a living earth creature, it now had a humanoid form, though its insides were still molten flesh and blood.

Rhivoceran, a massive insect king rhinoceros beetle, had evolved into an insectoid insect-man—a fully armored form in black and silver with a golden rhinoceros beetle horn.

Burwak, a Black Minotaur, had evolved into a demonoid humanoid form. His physique was incredibly powerful—resembling a demon lord. His Minotaur traits had vanished, and he was now fully human/demon in appearance.

Mesaris, the eagle-like beast, had evolved into a humanoid form—fully human in body with gold, white, and brown wings (two pairs). His feet were still eagle-like but now more powerful and ferocious. He also had arms with beastial claws and was well-versed in tempest and thunder.

Lyrus named them

Achilles – for Rhivoceran (Black Rhinoceros Beetle) who evolved into a humanoid insectoid

Homer – for Burwak (Black Minotaur) who evolved into a demon lord-like entity

Dester – for Mesaris (Humanoid Eagleman) who evolved into a high beast birdman

Teros – for Rougul (Rock Tree Golem – Earth Nature Variant) who evolved into an elf-form elemental life

Magnus – for the Tarfollio (Regal Red Kong Variant) who evolved into an Asura Kong

Sauron – for the Saneon (Giant Serpent King Variant – White and Gold) who evolved into a wyrm

Cersie – for the Vendissa (Vine Woman Beast) who evolved into a demoness of nature

Lyrus didn't mind the surprise and fuss of Teo, Selso, Vania, and Logan over this seemingly impossible feat he had accomplished. All of them had also broken through into Mythical Rank. Lyrus had helped them through their tribulations like it was nothing—turning the tribulation energy into a source of power that made them even stronger. They began to realize he was like a god. After all of that, Lyrus, exhausted, finally went to sleep.

Later that day, Ishvel, Vigil, and Titus rejoined Lanfer and Leonor. They learned what had happened and went off to train and hunt in the jungle. A night later, Vigil and Ishvel triggered their tribulations and broke through into Mythical Rank. Lanfer and Leonor assisted by creating barriers and attracting the tribulation energy, trapping it inside their respective zones—making the evolution even more powerful than ever.

Vigil became more demon-like, while Ishvel became truly humanoid—more like an ice elf, with pale, handsome features. His horns also evolved—glacial blue with black hues, regal in form.

Of Lyrus's first six beasts (excluding the fox), only Horus, Titus, and Sedestro had yet to reach Mythical Rank.

---

Next Morning

Early the next morning, they ventured back into the wild. Selso and Teo, Vania and Logan grouped together to search for the Dehedra. Lyrus regrouped with all his beasts in the northwest and commanded them to look for the Dehedra—leaving only Maverick with him.

Maverick transformed into a regal Wolven form, and Lyrus rode him.

Lyrus didn't venture deep into the wild, as he wanted to catch more beasts in the region and tame them.

Maverick: (Roared.)

(He ran fast and smooth through the forest—until they encountered a group of giant boars. These boars were massive, ferocious, and unafraid of predators. They were a group of boars consisting mostly of Emperor Beasts and two Overlords. They had large, long tusks and could control flames. They were flame-type beasts.)

Roar!

(They roared—and around forty flame cannons were fired at Lyrus and Maverick.)

Lyrus evaded and leapt onto a tree trunk. Maverick jumped into the sky.

Maverick: (Roared.)

(He fired a black and crimson-red cannon down at the group of boars.)

One of the Overlord boars cast a flame shield, then roared skyward and fired another flame cannon laced with red lightning.

Lyrus: Interesting.

(He brandished his white energy all over the area—covering the forest. The fire ignited by the attack receded, and the boars were trapped in a swirling white energy.)

Lyrus: Immobilize.

(The swirling white energy around their bodies solidified into a hardened material that could not be destroyed.)

Boars: (Roared.)

(They tried to fire another barrage of flame cannons, but Lyrus's white energy dispersed them. He also prevented them from using their abilities.)

Maverick: (Roared.)

Lyrus: These are Domboldons (Flame Boars). They're native to the northern part of Culvary. Even these beasts have fled down here.

(He approached the Overlord with the fire-and-lightning-attribute flame cannon.)

Domboldon is a beast whose growth is typically capped at Beast King. But these ones had reached Beast Emperor and Overlord ranks. It seems like they had consumed something in the forest that caused them to evolve into these powerful variants.

Then Lyrus decided to take the variant Overlord and integrate it with his white. He let all the other boars flee. The Overlord boar fainted as the effect of his white invaded its body, soul, and spirit.

Lyrus: White Domain.

(Then the white swirled around the Domboldon and it vanished.)

Lyrus: Seems like it's a success.

Lyrus had gained a new ability he called White Domain—a white space made from his power, where he could store anything that had been integrated into the white.

Later that night, he sensed that he could harness another ability. Then, from the power of his white, he created this new technique.

Lyrus: This is a good ability. I can store anything in the White Domain as long as it has been integrated into the white. Maverick, let's catch some more.

Maverick: Roar.

Then he rode Maverick. They soon encountered a humanoid bunny—a ferocious creature with the fierce look of a hunter.

Lyrus: Hmm… a Belega (Hunter Humanoid Bunny).

(This bunny was not your typical good-natured, weak beast. It was a ferocious, hunter-type omnivore.)

Lyrus: Maverick, catch it.

Maverick: Roar.

The Belega was just an Overlord Beast. Though fast, agile, and cunning, Maverick was also swift, intelligent, and highly skilled. After a short chase through the forest, the Belega was caught in Maverick's jaws—not injured, but immobilized by the grip of his mouth.

Maverick: Grr. (He brought it to Lyrus.)

Lyrus: Good job.

(The Belega struggled within his mouth. It was about the height of a human, and with its ears included, it was even taller. Lyrus then integrated the Belega while it was still in Maverick's mouth. The bunny eventually fainted and disappeared, absorbed into the White Domain.)

Then they continued searching and captured a Lyfilia, a Forgosto (Mystic Frog), and a Rubio (Shuttle Red Cock). The Lyfilia resembled Vania's companion beast but was only an Overlord. It was a cunning frog capable of psychic abilities and illusions. The Rubio was a large rooster beast that fought like a martial artist, capable of low flight and devastating ground combat. Both were also Overlords, and Lyrus and Maverick caught them with ease.

Along the way, Lyrus encountered a Tristrikal—a Legendary Beast, but clearly a variant. This one had golden fur, faded white and dark blue fur, bladed golden thorn fur, and two tails. It wasn't just fast—it could harness both lightning and tempest powers and even summon a solar barrage.

Lyrus: What a tough beast.

(After an hour of chase and battle, he and Maverick successfully caught and integrated the Tristrikal.)

They ventured deeper into the Wildlands and encountered a group of Revaris, from which Lyrus caught one, and also a Denegra.

Along the way, they encountered an even more powerful beast—a Sedevio (Giant Horned Ferocious Hunter Wolf), a Legendary Beast. It was a massive wolf, ten meters tall and twenty-five meters long, with two enormous white horns and two more large horns.

This time, Lyrus took the battle himself. If Maverick fought, he would be defeated. The white filled the forest, but the Sedevio jumped into the air and fired a white cannon at him.

Boom!

The ground around Lyrus exploded, creating a massive crater. Lyrus flew into the air—unaware that the Sedevio had already closed in behind him. It struck with an attack strong enough to kill most beings. But its massive paw simply passed through Lyrus, causing the beast to lose balance.

Then suddenly, the white energy materialized into a gigantic hammer, which came crashing down on the Sedevio and smashed it into the earth.

The beast roared, got up, and attacked again—firing a powerful white cannon at Lyrus in the sky. But Lyrus brandished his white energy like a cascading ocean toward the land beneath the Sedevio. The beast's attack passed through him harmlessly and failed to stop the surge of white.

He successfully trapped the Sedevio in the white, which now materialized like sticky slime. No matter how much the beast tried to get it off, it only clung tighter.

Lyrus: Integrate.

(More and more of the white penetrated the beast's body, until it fell asleep and was absorbed into the White Domain.)

Maverick: Roar.

(He emerged from the forest—but something in his mouth was struggling to escape. He had caught something.)

Lyrus: Oh, a Servile (Mystical Cat – Variant: Power Devil Shadow).

(He noticed shadowy hands trying to pry Maverick's mouth open.)

Lyrus: Good job. This is a great find.

Maverick: Grr.

(He sat proudly like a proud wolf.)

Then Lyrus integrated the Servile, which was also absorbed into the White Domain. Lyrus noticed that the Servile itself was only a Beast Lord, but the shadowy fiends it controlled had the strength of Overlords.

Lyrus: This little guy will grow into a strong beast in the future.

Roar!

A roar echoed from the sky. Far off in the horizon, a beast was hunting in another part of the forest—firing chilling beams down onto the land.

Lyrus: A Legendary Beast… Let's go, Maverick.

(He rode Maverick toward the battlefield between the bird beast and the ones on land.)

When they arrived, the battle was already over. A Saneon lay dead on the ground, and the bird beast was feasting on its meat.

Lyrus: A Roderma (Garuda Frost Devil Beast).

(Another creature not native to this region—it should've been deep in the south. It also appeared to be a beast without a master. But how did it get here?)

He and Maverick hid nearby. It seemed they weren't the only ones eyeing the Roderma. A group of Cerdal (Humanoid Black Panthers) were nearby, clearly aiming to steal its food.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Around thirty Cerdal had surrounded the area. Five of them were Legendary, the rest Overlords. Then two of the Legendary and seven Overlords lunged at the Roderma.

Keiiiiiii!

The Roderma reacted. A yellow frost barrier was cast around the area. The Cerdals collided with it, but the Roderma flew up into the sky.

But 21 black cannons fired up at it.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

It crashed to the ground.

Lyrus: It's going to die.

(He unleashed his white energy like an ocean wave. The area was engulfed in white. The Cerdals became confused and wary. Then Lyrus caught one of the Legendary Cerdal who seemed to be their leader, while he filled the Roderma's body with white energy. Both beasts struggled, but they couldn't escape.)

The Cerdals attacked the white, but it was useless—their attacks vanished, absorbed or phased through. Still, they attacked ferociously.

Lyrus: Hmm…

(Then thorny white tendrils suddenly materialized—impaling and killing five of the Cerdals. The rest became terrified and fled, though they didn't go far—they stayed nearby to observe.)

The Roderma and the captured Cerdal fainted and were absorbed into the White Domain.

Lyrus: Let's go, Maverick.

(They continued into the forest, while the remaining Cerdals returned to the battlefield and feasted on the dead Saneon.)

---

Along the way, they encountered a dinosaur beast—a Fordoleon (Red-Yellow Fanned Head Dinosaur), a Beast Emperor. Lyrus caught it with ease.

He also encountered another flying beast—a Spalderus (Blue Crown Cyclone Eagle), an Overlord.

Lyrus turned into a cascade of white energy in the sky, became transparent and invisible, and approached the Spalderus mid-air. Then, he trapped it in white energy that instantly materialized like a sticky wave of white liquid.

When he caught the Spalderus, he also noticed another beast in the sky raining down lightning upon him and the Spalderus. The beast was electrified, and both he and the eagle crashed into the ground.

Lyrus: What the hell?

(He half-materialized and saw a floating, balloon-like beast in the sky—a Legendary Beast: Corseous (Balloon Fur Beast). It absorbed energy from its surroundings and converted it into electrical cannons.)

Lyrus hurriedly integrated and bound the Spalderus, which was then absorbed into the White Domain.

Lyrus brandished the white into the sky, aiming at the Corseous, but it was too fast—vanishing like a bolt and reappearing farther away in the sky before attacking again with a Thunder Cannon. But the attack just passed through.

Lyrus: One time is enough.

(Then he became an invisible, white cascading ocean once again. This time, he easily caught the beast. The white materialized like a vast ocean. The Corseous unleashed unending electrical and solar discharges, but they were useless—its energy was simply absorbed. Eventually, it was fully integrated and fainted. After bounding it, he absorbed it into the White Domain.)

Lyrus: Hoo.

Lyrus continued their journey, roaming through the wilderness and catching an Overlord Tampar (Bull Demon). After a few hours of encountering repetitive beasts in the forest, he decided to stop.

That day, he had caught sixteen beasts.

Lyrus entered the White Domain along with Maverick. All the beasts were still unconscious. Lyrus took blood samples from each and began creating serums for all of them.

Lyrus was busy the entire day until nightfall. He finished creating all the serums for the beasts and fed them one by one for evolution.

After feeding them all the serum, he finally decided to rest and sleep—while Maverick roamed around the forest at night.
