Chapter 12 - Robert vs Jack

Jack's eyes met Robert's. There seemed to be intense rage in their eyes. Emma's heart was beating fast. She looked at Jack and then at Robert, weighing the pros and cons in her heart.

A moment later, she tried to pull back the hand in Robert's grip. However, Robert pulled very tightly, so she was unable to succeed. Sensing Emma's action, Robert's heart was filled with anger. She actually wanted to choose Jack over him. This woman, has she forgotten who she's dealing with? He exerted force and pulled Emma towards him. Wearing the high heels, Emma, who could barely walk, immediately stumbled into his embrace.

He smiled confidently and firmly hugged her waist against the side of his body. He looked at Jack, daring him to react. Jack's eyes were full of hostility. Robert was not afraid. He looked down at Emma, who was in his arms, and naturally kissed her on the forehead. "Honey, are you in a hurry now?" Emma blushed in embarrassment. Seeing her blush, Robert held her closer and pinched her cheek. "Why are you blushing again? You're so cute. I won't be able to control myself." Jack gritted his teeth. "Emma."

Emma felt it, a chill literally ran down her spine. She struggled to leave Robert's embrace. The elevator door opened just in time. She clenched her fists and said in a trembling voice, "Mr. Erickson, can you wait for me in the car? I need to have a few words with Jack. I will be down soon." She looked like she was begging Robert. She hoped he wouldn't pick a fight with her. After all, she did not want to bring trouble to her brother. Robert raised his eyebrows. His disapproval with the situation creased his forehead.

In an instant, his expression changed to mild satisfaction, and he rubbed her hair where it had gotten mussed in the scuffle. "Seeing how cute you are… I hope you come down earlier. Otherwise..." She interrupted him. "Ten minutes will do." Robert took off his coat and covered Emma's shoulders. He gave Jack a cold look and walked into the elevator. The moment the elevator door closed, Jack grabbed her wrist and walked towards the stairs in front of them. However, because of those ridiculous high heels, she was dragged to the ground.

Jack's heart ached. He quickly went and helped her up. She said pitifully, "Jack, I don't know how to wear high heels. Please, walk slower." Jack got annoyed. "You don't know how to wear high heels, but you still wear them." However, he quickly turned around and helped her up. Taking her to the stairs. Jack's expression was cold. "What's going on?" She stood by the wall like an elementary school student who had made a mistake. She looked down at the tips of her toes, looking guilty. "I'm sorry."

"I don't want to hear you apologize. I want to know what exactly happened. Emma, why are you with him? Didn't you say that you are just his brother's tutor? But what did I see tonight?" Emma kept looking at her feet. "I am his little brother's tutor. I came here with him tonight because he saved my life at the bar where I work the other night. As for the scene you saw…" She bit her lip. "I don't know why he did that to me." She really didn't know.

Jack didn't believe her. Thinking about that scene just now, he was really annoyed. He had been protecting Emma since she was young, especially from whatever that bastard wanted with her. He exhaled. "Alright. I won't argue over tonight's matter with you. Promise me that you will immediately resign from his family's tutoring work and draw a clear line with him."

"This... I'm afraid I can't promise you that for the time being." She looked at him. "Robert's little brother will take the college entrance exam in less than a month. If he changes tutors now, a new tutor won't have the connection I have with him. Furthermore... I have already gotten paid."

"I'll compensate you for any lost money. As for how Robert's little brother gets along with a new tutor… That isn't our problem. A person like Robert Erickson is not someone you should provoke. Emma, these kinds of people are very dangerous. He doesn't care about you. When you are with a person like him, other than a moment of pleasure, you will get nothing. Take advantage of the fact that you are not in love with him and cut him off immediately."

What did he mean by a 'moment of pleasure'? He didn't think that she and Robert had that kind of relationship, did he? Emma felt uneasy in her heart. "Jack, what do you take me for?" "Emma, I know you. If you were not willing, he wouldn't be flirting with you in front of me like he did tonight. That must be the reason why you didn't resist. Didn't you say that you would never repeat the same mistakes that Aunty made? If that's still true, then you should stay away from him. I say this for your own good. You have to be obedient, understand?"

Emma clenched her fists. She didn't flare up, though, because she didn't want Robert to be hostile to Jack. However, he actually... She turned around and was about to leave. Jack grabbed her wrist. "Emma." "Enough." Emma looked at him with resentment in her eyes. "Since you don't believe me, why are you standing here and talking to me about what's best for me? Your surname is Meyer, and my surname is Green. No one ever has to know that we are related. I have nothing to do with you. So you don't have to worry that I've embarrassed the great Meyer family."

She shook off his hand and pushed the door open, leaving the stairs. Seeing her reaction, Jack realized that his words had hurt her. He quickly chased after her, but she had already entered the elevator. He wanted to chase after her and explain, but an acquaintance came out of the banquet hall and greeted him. He looked in the direction of the elevator, then walked back towards the hall.

Coming out of the elevator, she sprained her ankle. She was in pain and half-knelt on the ground to rub her ankle. These damn shoes. She took off her heels and limped towards the hotel entrance. Robert's car was parked at the door, but after she looked at the car, she walked around it in the opposite direction. In the car, Robert saw her barefooted, carrying her shoes and limping away. He frowned. He pushed open the door and got out of the car. She endured the pain and ran when she heard the door.

When she reached the grass on the right side of the hotel, he caught up to her. Robert grabbed her arm and looked at her with a gloomy face. Her face was full of anger. "Why are you running? What's wrong with your feet?" Emma threw her shoes at his feet and shouted angrily, "What did I ever do to you? Why are you doing this to me? Why did you kiss me? Do you think that because you're rich, all the women in the world have to surround you and let you do whatever you want? Let me tell you, just stop being arrogant. I hate you, especially you. You just get as far away from me as you can and stay there, forever."

After she finished speaking, she pulled his jacket off her shoulders and threw it at him. Then, she turned around and left. Robert's face darkened. He picked her up and walked back to the car. Emma struggled. "What are you doing? Put me down." Robert ignored her. He threw her into the car and closed the door. After making him angry, she wanted him to put her down? She was dreaming.

Emma once believed that people in bare feet had nothing to fear from people wearing shoes. But when he dragged her into that car, she finally understood that Robert was the one not wearing any shoes.

He firmly pressed her against the back seat, completely ignoring the embarrassment of the driver in front of him. "If you dare move again, I wouldn't mind taking you right here, right now. Got it?" "You..." "Tom, drive home." "Yes, yes, Mr. Erickson." Emma gritted her teeth. "Robert, get off of me." The driver gripped the steering wheel and kept his eyes on the road. He had been with the Erickson family for so long, and no one had dared to call Mr. Erickson by his name. Miss Green was the first. Robert smiled. "Robert?" A long moment of silence passed. " Tom, stop the car." Tom quickly parked the car by the side of the road.

Robert said, "You're off the clock." "Yes, Mr. Erickson." Tom pushed open the door and got out of the car in a panic. There were only two people left in the car. Emma suddenly felt a little scared. "You... What are you doing?" He wouldn't dare to do anything to her here. "Making love to you." After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and started kissing her lips. She was controlled by him. He kissed her for three minutes before she finally struggled to move away. She shouted, "Let go of me, Robert." Robert looked at her and held her chin. "If you scream again, I will let go of you." "If you give me a reason, I'll definitely scream." "So, you won't do it. If you do, then I'll pretend that you're begging for more."

She could only struggle against him, with no success. She didn't dare scream now. Not after what he said, but she wanted to stay a good woman. Although she didn't really know what Robert wanted from her, she had to do something to get him off of her body. She finally shouted out loud, without speaking any words. Robert, still laying on top of her body, looked down at her for three seconds before he burst out laughing. "You… What are you laughing at? Will you get off of me now?" "I was hoping you would scream out my name." She was stunned for a moment, and her face turned red. Robert was still smiling.

Emma felt embarrassed when she saw him smile like that. She spoke firmly, "Robert, you have gone too far." Robert stopped smiling and lightly pinched her chin. "Very good. When the competition has left the race, in the future, I will allow you to call me by my name. You'll have to earn the privilege." She was dumbfounded again. What privilege? What was the point of her being here? However, without any word from her, Robert was pulling himself off of her body. Emma sat upright. She tidied the dress that had been pushed up against her body, almost exposing her from the waist down.

For some reason, she felt like she had just survived a disaster. Which indirectly confirmed what Jack told her back at the banquet hall. He was dangerous, and she would need to watch herself until Samuel took his college entrance exam. Then, she would leave and never have anything to do with Robert ever again. There were still 24 days left. She had to endure it. Robert opened the door and got out of the car. He sat in the passenger seat. He looked back at her. "Come here. Drive home." The word 'home' struck her heart like an arrow.

She liked the word 'home,' but she didn't have a home. Seeing that she hadn't moved, Robert spoke again. "What are you still sitting there for? Would you like me to finish what I started?" She looked at him with frustration. "I can't drive." Robert took a moment to consider this. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Come back." After ending the call, he returned to the back seat. He pulled her leg gently into his lap to examine it. She looked at the side of his face and a strange feeling moved through her body that she had never experienced before.
