Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 : Not just an act , right ?

POV: Bunny

Ever since the kiss in front of his mom, things have been… complicated.

We were still "acting" — but why did it stop feeling like acting?

Like today.

I was scrolling through my phone on the couch when Aarav walked in, freshly showered, hair damp, wearing that same smug look like he knows he messes with my head.

Aarav: "So… I'm difficult to live with or… dangerously charming?"

I rolled my eyes. "Try 'annoying roommate who leaves wet towels everywhere'."

Aarav (smirking): "Admit it, you missed me today."

"Missed what?" I shot back. "Your ego or your ridiculous cologne?"

But he just kept walking closer.

Aarav (leaning closer): "Say whatever you want, Bunny. Your eyes always tell the truth."

POV: Aarav

Every moment with her is war — a quiet, slow, addictive war. She pushes, I pull. She teases, I freeze. But I've never wanted peace more than when I'm near her.

She still thinks I'm playing. That this is all pretend.

She's the first one who made me want something real.

And when she laughs at my jokes?

Game over.

Bunny (sipping coffee): "Btw… today someone flirted with me in the elevator."

I stiffened.

"Did they now?" I asked, voice flat.

Bunny (grinning): "Yup. Said I looked cute."

Aarav: "He have a death wish or something?"

She burst out laughing, but I wasn't joking.

POV: Bunny

Jealousy looked so good on him.

I walked up to him, stood on my toes and said, "You're terrible at hiding it."

Aarav: "And you're terrible at pretending this is just acting."

Silence.

We were so close I could count his lashes.

But neither of us moved.

Because once we cross this line — there's no coming back.

Ending Line (POV Aarav):

"One more step… and it's no longer fake.

And maybe that's exactly what I want."
