Chapter 2
Prince Nicolas was leaving class to his lunch period when he saw some girls picking on the fallen angel, the new girl. He stepped up and the students left her alone, for they knew what authority he held. "Hey.. It's okay.. Don't be afraid.." Nicolas told her, extending his hand. She hesitated, then reached out. "I haven't seen someone like you around here, what's your name?" He asked. "Kiona.. Who are you? YOU seem familiar.." She shyly replied. "I am the Prince of Lystera, Nicolas.." He said. "Prince?!" Kiona exclaimed. Then she walked in front of him and bowed. "Oh.. Please, there's no need for that, don't bow.." He stammered. "I hate when people do that.." He thought. "Oh.. Sorry, my bad.." She said, quickly rising. "It's fine.." He mumbled. Soon, he just blurted out the question, "Would you like to hang out??" Kiona blushed and asked, "You wanna hang out with me?" Nicolas quickly nodded. She giggled softly and answered, "Sure, why not? You seem pretty chill." Nicolas then said, "Thank you.. Okay bye.." Then he quickly, trying to hide his face of embarrassment. He then entered the bathroom, hiding from the cafeteria, and looked up in the mirror, trembling. He despised his reflection. "Why do I have to look like this??" He thought, "Why do I need to FEEL like this?" He continued to stare at himself, as if he saw a ghost, his hands shaking. His legs betrayed him as he caved into himself, quickly hiding from the mirror, taking out his journal. He tried writing in it as he struggled to resist the urge to begin sobbing at the sight of himself. "It feels like I'm on fire right now..." Nicolas wrote, "I can never feel like myself, the burn never leaves me, this body is a prison, one that I'm not meant to be in, the shadows in me makes me feel like I can't breathe, I just want to be me, but the shadows won't leave me be." Nicolas shut the journal, then stood up, glanced back at the mirror and then wrote down one last question before leaving, "When will my reflection show who I am inside?" TO BE CONTINUED..
