"What are you thinking so deeply about?" Ken patted her head.
"I'm wondering about Camie."
"She's not something you should worry about." He held her hands. "We have to think about out future in university." She said.
"College not university." He corrected.
"Sorry, African mentality." She smiled.
"I haven't returned your idea book." He reminded her. "Let's stop by my house and get it."
Her Idea Book was a large book with 200 A4 pages. She sketched fashion and jewelry designs, planets, constellations, mandala or anything that came to her mind.
"Alright, but I hope your mom made cookies and pies today." She said dreamily.
"I hope so to." They both took a left turn after walking a distance of five kilometers. "My brothers will be at home. Do forgive their usual pervertedness."
"I'll try." They continued in complete silence.
"Zuri, a guy asked me out."
"Eh?" She stopped. "What did you say?"
"I said yes." He looked down.
She grabbed his collar. "Are you crazy? What were you thinking? Your dad will disown you and you mom will kill you."
"I'm not crazy, I wasn't thinking." He blurted.
"I don't know you anymore." She let go and stepped back. "I want you to explain."
"It was at work today and I wasn't the one who said yes. I didn't reply and he assumed it was a yes and he said he'll call tonight." He looked pale. "I don't want to go but I hate disappointing people."
"I'll deal with it." She waved her hand. "When he calls, I'll be there. Let's just go."
She was enraged at the thought of Ken going out with a guy. He was just like her. Sometimes, as timid as a mouse and as bold as a stunt driver.
Sure, he was good looking in a feminine way and she was attractive in a guy-ish way but for a person of the same gender to ask him out.
'I'm so mad right now." She inwardly fumed. 'Calm down. If you continue like this, you will get an asthma attack and your inhaler just finished. Calm down.'
She breath in and out, checked her pulse and pinched her arm. 'I'm fine.'
